Republican lawmakers on Wednesday killed a law that underpinned coronavirus restrictions issued by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer in 2020, wiping it from the books after Michigan's Supreme Court declared the measure unconstitutional.

The Democrat is powerless to veto the citizen-initiated bill. A conservative group that organized the ballot drive next plans to target a public health law that enabled Whitmer's administration to keep intact capacity restrictions and mask requirements for eight additional months until voluntarily lifting them in June after infections subsided amid vaccinations.

Good for them - the Dems think they own the country and that the people are supposed to be subservient to the government instead of the government being subservient to the people

I generally agree with you papi, but when you get down to it it is the Republicans who also support the fear and prejudice which underlies the COVID hysteria.

And now with the Delta Variant, it is starting all over again.

Fake Democrats? Why not DINOs? As in, Joe Manchin is a DINO. It worked to ostracize moderate Republicans. That way we can get rid of all the centrists that represent the majority of Americans and only have the two polar extremes.

Well, Franklin Roosevelt was probably the most progressive President we have ever had. He had openly called for going further than Bernie Sanders ever has. But this was before Strom Thurmond and his 1948 States Rights Campaign, and before Richard Nixon and his 1968 Southern Strategy, which broke up the New Deal Coalition.
