Follies reopening?

Avatar for shadowcat

I found this on Face Book this evening.

"Follies has moved to Vividê,starting this Monday we will be opening up again, Steve Shine will be running the show along with Barry Shine, housemom Abby and Jimi Brown."

Presently this club is operating as a night club.

Is that another town, nor a venue in the same town?

I heard this from a dancer yesterday at platinum. But she said it wouldn’t open till January. Also Inside the city limits will be pretty strict dancing rules like no touching and for me NO FIV ,

Sad face ...sad face

Let me know when I should add it.

Also, should I create a new listing or just relocate the old listing?

It looks like it’s just a new name for V Live.

Believe it when I see it...but one can hope. I can say, with confidence, that neither Platinum or Diamond Club is the "new Follies " Forward scouts should be plentiful. :)

I posted a while back that I passed by Follies and there was construction activity. Anyone go by there recently?

Odds are the "New Follies" will be as big of a disappoint as "New Coke" was by delivering a substandard product that does nothing but tarnish a piece of Atlanta history.

I live in the general area of “old” Follies. I have driven by several times in the last month. I occasionally see a car or pickup truck in the parking lot. Other than that, no activity.

I see on Google Maps that the new location is right next to a place called Bad Axe Throwing. The 2AMers could get very nasty.

Doc, agree...its the same property...It's a very industrial area. I think it is just the past Follies managers hyping. Hope it happens but I'm very sceptical.

FWIW, I saw an Instagram post today from a Follies day shift dancer that said their grand opening is Monday, December 7. shadowcat, you need to smooth the wrinkles out of one of your famously humorous T-shirts, make an appearance, and give us a report.

If the new Follies has strict dancing rules, no extras, no mileage, and no touching; is it really Follies?

Lots of unanswered questions. Currently TUSCL lists the business at 1271 Marietta Blvd NW, Atlanta as V live. a strip club, with no reviews for 2 years. I believe that they went out of business and were replaced by Vivide a night club that appears to only be open on weekends.

It appears that the owners of Folies are not involved in this new undertaking. They still have litigation pending. So I doubt that there will be a name change to Follies.

I don't see any public announcement of a grand opening 2 days away from the supposed start up.

Do they have an adult entertainment license, liquor license? What are their hours? Who is the money behind this?

Looks like somebody is going to have to take one for the team and go check it out.

Spoke to one of the managers directly and asked if this would be like the “Follies of Old”. He said yes. We shall see....

I have received texts from two former Follies Dancers to come see them today at the "new" Follies. I think they actually call it Follies Daytime which is interesting. Both of these dancers participated in the full offerings of Follies, so my guess is that their intention is to earn the same money by doing the same things. I will not be there to find out.

First reports from USASG:

"Rolled up around 12:15. 20+ cars up front. Managers were quick to greet me and let me know I was he very first customer for the grand opening. That means that 20+ girls are already here. Huge 2 story club. With 4 VIP rooms. 2 on each side on the bottom floor. Just did a quick walk around. Will update with details. Beautiful girls walking around. Mix of white and black so far.

Quick detail update.

No parking fee when I got here. Checked with a wand and pat down upon entry. No cover, but that may change.

Lap dances are the typical affair. 10 bucks a song. Songs are long though. Something I noticed and appreciated.

Red Bull was $5. Mixed drinks were $10.

VIP from what I've been told is also the standard fees. $50 to the club and then the girls set their rates. Haven't indulged that way yet though.

This place is full of dancers, but need more customers. I think this place has got potential."

What have you got to lose? If you're local I'd say get there and check it out before somebody ruins it. Let me tell you where I wouldn't be if I was in driving distance. I wouldn't be on TUSCL having a will I or won't I debate about seeing what's up.

May not be open much longer. Read in the AJC this week that the City of Atlanta is cracking down on nightclubs. It stated that they must get at least 50% of their revenue from food in order to stay open. This probably explains why Cheetah has become a restaurant with dancers.

Nothing new about that Mike. Why do you think Follies was serving little pieces of cake with your drink. The cake was $8 and your drink was 50 cents.

Ar Old Follies the cake thing was about serving liquor on Sunday. They started just putting packs of crackers and the city said it had to be food cooked on premise. So the cook started baking a cake.
