That was rough. The original song is a classic - and the vocal emotion of the original remains unmatched.
I doubt it would work with the music - but if she grinded up and down on a giant dildo - and ruined her skinny ass - during the video - I could have watched the full song.
Or - if she was in the middle of a circle jerk - and swallowed several loads - during the video - as Papi mentioned her voice was a big raspy - I’d enjoy the visual.
I’m glad they subtitled the Na, Na, Na, Na part - that was the most entertaining part of the video!
out of all the current female popular singers out there, miley cyrus and lady gaga are the only ones that are willing to take chances and are not afraid to fail.
Cover songs are tricky. Some really change up the original and it works (Marilyn Manson - Sweet Dreams). Also (Eric Clapton - I Shot the Sherriff). Interesting note: Whitney Houston, I Will Always Love You, was a cover of the song written and recorded by Dolly Parton 20 years prior. Sometimes it doesn't work at all (Madonna - American Pie) and (Fugees - Killing Me Softly).
Others do it almost exactly the same, it's okay, but you wonder why they bothered (Quiet Riot - Highway to Hell). Then there's some groups that re-do their own classic song years later and it usually sucks. An exception would be Eric Clapton with the acoustic, slowed-down version of Layla, which was awesome.
Of course many songs we think are originals are actually covers of little-known or forgotten artists. Example: Blondie - The Tide Is High. The original was recorded by The Paragons in 1966, and I think most would agree the song would have vanished into obscurity if not for Blondie's 1980 cover.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yoHDrzw-… It's hard for any artist to redo classics that are so ingrained in the listener's mind because there's the constant comparison to the original. The Scorpions are easily one of my top 3 favorite bands of all time. A few years ago they came out with an album "Comeblack" which was half remakes of old Scorpions songs and half covers. I thought the whole album fell flat, with the possible exception of Ruby Tuesday. It's not that different from the original Stones version, but Klaus Meine's unique voice gives it an interesting twist.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iS_WTDYU… I still believe that Roger Waters "The Wall - Live in Berlin" is likely the greatest "re-do" ever. It heavily features guest artists either supporting Waters, or completely doing the songs on their own. Any fan of the original album should listen to it, but I highly suggest watching the entire video recording.

I couldn't bring myself to listen to it. But it can't be as bad as the Scissor Sisters version of Comfortably Numb for which they should still be in jail.
fwiw the scissor sisters version sounds like how a mixture of the bee gees, U2 and electronica pop all blended together. it's a different take for sure.
now if you want to stick to more of a rock aesthetic slant here's a guitar solo that might pique your interest:

And I was right.
I can hear the original when amyley tries to recreate the song. And she is nowhere near as talented as Roger Waters or David Gilmore.
Agree with that.
This song and this band are hard to cover.
In addition to their own music, they do amazing covers of a lot of Zeppelin songs.
When I saw a cover of Comfortably Numb on Youtube, I immediately listened to it.
I wish that I hadn’t.
comfortably numb - nah.
some of them are going to hard misses.
Lzzy hale - now that lady can really bust out some great covers
Pretty Bad......
But after that . . . yeah, this ain't it.

Exactly what Waters and Gilmour must be thinking. "Look what they've done to my song." Lol
