But what a great ride before he died

"A Minnesota biker who attended the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally has died of covid-19 — the first fatality from the virus traced to the 10-day event that drew more than 400,000 to South Dakota.
The man was in his 60s, had underlying conditions and was hospitalized in intensive care after returning from the rally, said Kris Ehresmann, infectious-disease director at the Minnesota Department of Health. The case is among at least 260 cases in 11 states tied directly to the event, according to a survey of health departments by The Washington Post."

They really do not know for sure that is where he contracted the virus. All they know is that he tested positive and that he went to the event. Although if you do the math. 260 cases from 400,000 people. That is less than one tenth of one percent. When you think about roughly 15-20% of the US population has had Covid, then 260 is not very many. But let the Washington Post made a big deal of it. It's a shame that this person died. But you might want to wait until you blame Sturgis just yet.

If it was a ride/event he had always wanted to do before he died and possibly due to his health conditions might not make it to next year, it might have been worth it to him. We all have things we feel are worth dieing over, maybe living the life he wanted instead of wasting away hiding from the world his last few years was worth it to him.

Most of the people at Sturgis have built up an immunity to just about all diseases so the numbers should be low.

That's exactly what I had in mind when I posted. He died after a great experience; he had pre-existing conditions and might have died before the next Sturgis if he passed on this year's

A lot of obese bikers with pre existing conditions - this guy was probably one of them.
