Yep apparently you can get a lotto app for your state and it allows you to scan tickets and to enter them into a 2nd chance lotto for X amounts
Well most ppl that buy tickets dont use this app and toss their losing ticket in the trash
I've been picking them up and entering them in the 2nd chance drawing LOL
I got over 1,000 free tickets in a drawing for $25,000 this month

I looked into it because it's interesting. In my state at least, you have to join the lotto "VIP" program to participate in second chance winnings. That's free, but leaves you open to a lot of spam messages and calls (because nothing is free).
My philosophy about the lottery is that I'm statistically more likely to make $1 million via hard work than I am via paying for lottery tickets.
I don't see myself dumpster diving for discarded tickets, but it's fun to try if I come across the occasional ticket.
Most convenient stores or gas stations in my State usually have small trash cans near the lotto ticket area and scanners.. You can just pic up the tossed ones and walk out... I usually can get 15 to 30 in one trip
