Why are comments closed for profile photos uploaded over a year ago

I think comments are closed for everything (photos, threads, etc), after a certain amount of time - I disagreed with this change but some on here wanted it (it wasn't that way for most of TUSCL's existence).

With photos I guess it wouldn't be fair to the poster if tbeyre no longer active
