TUSCL club addresses changing

I've noticed that a lot of addresses changed from street names to highway number. For instance Follies used to be 4075 Buford Hwy but got changed to 4075 GA Hwy23 which is also correct but has now been changed back to Buford Hwy.

I’ve noticed the address changes too. I’m guessing Founder performed an across the board replacement of the club addresses. In particular I’ve looked at clubs I frequently attend. In two or three cases, an outright wrong address was listed, which would have led someone unfamiliar with the area to not find the club. In those cases, I submitted a club update and the information was corrected in less than a day.

In other cases, I’ve noticed the street address lists a Maryland Route number rather than the street name that is shown on the street signs and that anyone slightly local is far more familiar with. I’ve been having an internal debate with myself as to whether to submit an update or not.

I’m sure Founder had his reasons for these changes, but I can’t help but think that the listings are less accurate than before.

It's possible founder didn't actually make any changes could be google just screwing with us intentionally 😁

Bogart's and Flight Club in Inkster, MI are almost directly across the street from one another. Bogart's is listed as U.S. 12 and Flight Club is listed as Michigan Ave. Both are correct but almost all locals know Michigan Ave. not U.S. 12.

In Flint, Deja Vu and Velvet Touch are next door to one another yet both are listed at same street number. Not possible.

In Jackson, MI Avenues is listed on I-94BL. The BL is for "business loop". The common street name is, again, Michigan Ave., which is from where the club takes it's name, Avenues. Everyone is familiar with Michigan Ave., not so much I-94BL.

Im lost

I just checked and found 4 Atlanta clubs listed by highway number rather than street name which is more commonly known. A week or so ago I submitted one that was totally wrong and it get corrected pretty fast.

I noticed that when you look at the list of strip clubs by state, what pops up is a long list of every single city in that state whether they have strip clubs or not. When you click on a city, it looks like what you get is a listing of the nearest clubs, no matter what city they're in. Seems useful, but it's weird.

I do think it's an improvement over what was in place just a while ago which listed only a few locations, where, for example, in California one of the listed options was a place called "Inland Empire." Natives may know which cities that encompasses, but I'm from the East Coast and while I have a general idea of that area, I'm not that sure how far that extends.

I assume the change in club addresses must have resulted from a download of all cities from a different database.

Yeah - it makes the screen/searching too-busy and convoluted - it should be like b/f where only cities w/ clubs in them are listed, then perhaps have an "other" text-box where you type a particular city not-listed and the software then lists the nearest clubs to that city.

I agree with you Papi; those pages are far too busy.

But I suspect Founder inserted all those localities in so that they all get indexed into search engines.

The updated version is much improved since it brings back the ability to sort which is a must have when traveling to new cities a lot. Agree that listing every city in a state makes it a little clunky. Papi's suggestion to only list the cities where clubs reside with an option to type in the desired nearby city would be cool.

I've noticed that too. 2001 Odyssey - Tampa still lists 2309 N Dale Mabry as their address, while Tuscl guide lists it as 3724 W. Palmetto St. Club is located on corner of Dale Mabry Hwy and Palmetto St. Although main club entrance faces Dale Mabry, most of the parking is on the Palmetto St. side. Next time I go to club, I'll look for the "3724" numbering. I suspect the address change is a Google Map kind of thing whereby the geographical center of club is more on Palmetto St.

I’ve spent an hour or so for the past three evenings researching the addresses for all of the clubs in Maryland and Washington DC. I submitted an update for about 90% of the clubs. In most cases, the street numbers were inaccurate. In a few cases I only suggested changing the street name from a highway number to the name that is commonly used & shown on street signs.

SerenitySinn: I definitely recommend submitting your corrections via the “Update” link on club page.

I noticed that Atlantis south of Chicago changed cities a couple weeks ago. Can’t check until I get around to a review filed.

@SS- Go get reading glasses yourself. Where did you see me complaining about the difficulty of finding the club? I'm just curious how the hell the address got changed in tuscl guide. I'm also questioning if there is really such an address in any nav system database. If it is not in the database that one is using in their nav, what will happen if you put it in ? Reject input, or what? I'll leave pursuing that question about this and other clubs to another tuscler with time on their hands. I've been finding 2001 club for many years without nav system, thank you very much.

Seems TUSCL listings used GPS coordinates for club addresses rather than local city-county or postal accepted addresses. submitted updates based on club websites or social media or Yelp.
In my own area only two of seven clubs surveyed had correct addresses. One number part of an address was literally off by a mile; google street showed not the club but a treed field with a single billboard advertising 'Get Free Audiobooks'.
