Totally unfair. More like dealing with the Public Health Dept. And that is how many see it, as a public hygiene menace.
Jim and Artie Mitchell had been able to get such laws struck down by the CA Supreme Court. Were it not for that, Dianne Feinstein would have been able to get them convicted and incarcerated as the "Corporate Pimps". Contact strip clubs would have vanished.
And telling Penthouse they have to sell of their fixturing is entirely unconstitutional.

Just by putting in coal and supplying some slave labor, we were able to get gasoline, diesel, and kerosene for the Messerschmidt 262, which could fly circles around a P-51.

One big difference though, back then we still needed coal. But top scientists from Farben and DuPont have been working on this for decades. Now coal is no longer necessary as we have learned to harness the power of the Sun to do methane conversion and then to cook that into the larger hydrocarbons and polymers. It is hard to imagine a better solution.
