I’m sensing a noticeable drop in the strip club environment in Phoenix. Hi Liter has really gone downhill, likely in reaction to LE activity. Blue Moon has also changed, maybe because of new management. I’m just not finding other clubs stepping up to fill the void.
AFAIK HiLiter was by far the most popular club in PHX, so one would assume a significant drop in HL would be a significant drop overall - sometimes these things are cyclical - other times a city starts slowly strangling the clubs and there's no going back.
HiLiter ownership/management had a great thing going and decided to thumb their nose at PHX LE with the expanded VIP. Then came the LE raids and subsequent expulsion of popular dancers (too get the focus off mismanagement) that had been the reason for great reviews and return customers. A few clubs are thriving with their business model and staying under the LE radar. Unfortunately, when the current HL ownership loses their liquor license (and they will soon), then other clubs will become the target. Lucky for these few clubs, the HL group has interest in enough clubs that it may take another year or so for the focus to move to them. Appreciate many of the old HL dancers have now been displaced throughout the valley. LE, like PL's, will follow the service providers until no clubs will allow them to work due to age or reputation.
A lot of things that used to exist and seem permanent are no longer. Some day people will say that about strip clubs; fraternities; golf courses; race tracks; etc.
As a long time Phoenix SC junkie, it has been sad and frustrating to watch the HL decline. There are a few long term veterans left that have regulars that come in to see them, and I don’t think management realizes how much of a drop they will see when those few finally leave. I blame the proliferation of blatant extras, and too many idiots bragging about it here and elsewhere. I think city officials were fairly complacent about the SC scene as long as it was at least somewhat under the radar, but no city wants to actually develop a reputation as a hotbed for wide open sexual activity, whether in SCs, street corners, or the escort scene. A few years ago Phoenix was getting everything going at once, and it reached a tipping point.
