I believe this club is currently open 24 hours - I wonder if this incident is gonna affect that

Been there, but the club had a different name years ago. Not an area I will venture to these days.

I think they had some problems with being 24hrs or something a while back, didn't they? Or was that their other 24hr place Klub 24

^ yeah - that was Klub24 in Opa-Locka which is still closed - supposedly Opa-Locka does not allow strip-clubs but somehow they opened Klub24 via some apparent backchannels and were shut down a couple of months after opening - it appears they made Booby Trap On The River 24-hours after Klub24 was ordered shut.

So much in Dade County depends on the city location. Luckily, I live in unincorporated area.

A fight inside a Miami strip club ended in a shooting outside that left a security guard dead and another hospitalized early Thursday, authorities said.

Miami-Dade Police said the shooting took place outside of the Booby Trap located at 3615 Northwest South River Drive in Miami around 6:30 a.m.

According to police, there was a fight inside the club and security guards escorted those involved outside. A short time later, a car traveled west toward the club stopped, and several subjects opened fire and hit two security guards.

MDPD Det. Alvaro Zabaleta confirmed that one person was killed in the shooting. He was later identified as 31-year-old Jose D. Otero.

The second security guard responded to Jackson Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound to his upper extremity, police said.

Investigators have not released any details on who they may be looking for. Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Police.

This is a mostly Latin mostly Cuban spot and in these type-spots there usually isn't much violence let alone shootings but who knows what type people are showing-up in the wee-hours

Getting mugged or otherwise caught in the crossfire between gangs of heavily armed half-wits are my biggest concerns about going to any strip club - whether a high dollar club or a bargain basement skank show in a low-rent neighborhood.

Strip clubbers all recognize the myriad risks associated with using a credit card at a strip club. Consequently, we all carry an appropriately large wad of cash with us to ensure we can pay the hefty prices sometimes needed when an emergency desploogination is required.

Like it or not, we are very attractive targets for a mugger especially while we walk through the dark parking lot on our way into a strip club.

This is one of the reasons I rarely go to a strip club after dark.

That and the cover charge for entry goes up at 7 PM.
