Is there anything special about Manhattan clubs in particular? I find the bars to be much more interesting than those in austin..while this might be obvious, just curious if there is anything special abt Manhattan clubs..bet the upscale ones look really cool.
I don’t know my regions too well but upscale Manhattan is VIPcentric. Floor and stage isn’t much of a thing. And since you said you wouldn’t be interested in that kind of thing, I don’t think it would be your kind of club.
I recommend the book The Beaver Show by Jacqueline Francis for more insight there.
Since you prefer to watch stage, another part of NYC with urban club would be more your thing. A lot of bartenders there dress in outfits similar to the dancers. And it’s WAY more state heavy. I mostly know about those kinds of clubs because of the news covering of strippers protesting those clubs cause they were allowing bartenders to swipe money off dancers’ state sets . And other favoritism type of stuff. Haven’t heard anything in a while though, so I guess it resolved itself?
Manhattan clubs are too expensive. The interiors are similar to other upscale strip clubs.
In my opinion - the dancers aren’t special either.
The cost is all that sets Manhattan clubs apart from other clubs. You get far less for your money - as the dancers are all looking for investment bankers looking to tip them in $100’s just for opening a bottle of beer.
There are several Manhattan clubs that have big names - but they don’t offer anything special.
In terms of bars - Manhattan has some great bars. But those are mostly dive type bars. You can hang with a very varied group of folks at some city bars. The conversation can be great.
Some bars also offer a great vantage point for people watching - and Manhattan is great for people watching!
I’ve been to several Austin bars, and the Austin scene is great. I like that area. It’s more laid back than NYC - and I like that there are some clubs where you can relax and listen to music and have a drink.
I have seen youtubes which talk about underground clubs in NYC. But they play it both ways, trying to scare you and trying to entice you at the same time. But cost reduction is one of the ideas they play on.
I would go for it, leading to FS-ITC, and likely Toda La Noche of course.
You make enough trips to manhattan queens bronx long island being a truckdriver you will definetely have a low opinion. The city is dirty, residents are hateful and everything is way to expensive! The only thing good about nyc is the bagels
NYC seems gross. philly/New Jersey is the closest I’ve been and I plan to go dance and visit there soon but my expectations are low. Maybe I’m just not an east coast gal.
I've been going to NYC for 30 years. There are bars and places I like but the stripclubs I'd prefer to avoid. I've been to a few over the years although I admit most of my visits are from decades ago.
The only recent one ( last summer) was an unmitigated disaster.

If you're real and if you come to Jersey, please let us know. You have an amazing rack. Thanks.
