Strip Bar Rescue! (Club Platinum - Las Vegas)

So, I got the free trial for Philo the other night (no credit card needed, they text you a code) and Bar Rescue was on with a strip club episode! They had found a slow dive in Vegas where the owner had died after running it for 30 years and his wife had taken over.

SPOILER ALERT

Jon Taffer's ideas on how to reverse club decline were quite a bit different from the ones presented here: tuscl.net

The club looked like the kind of place Juice would go while saving up for a poker tournament buy-in, and the show went about how one might expect under the circumstances. Unfortunately, they missed a huge opportunity not approaching Juice and shadowcat to send in for the recon. Instead, the show's approach was to send a couple of guys in to order frou-frou drinks the bartender didn't know how to make and to be predictably disappointed when for drink #2 the dive bartender was like, "so, you guys want a beer?" (instead of coming at them with a different frou-frou drink recommendation)

Unfortunately, there was no scene with Taffer berating the owner saying HALF OF YOUR DANCERS ARE ROBS!!! YOU HAD THE CHANCE TO IMPRESS JUICE AND SHADOWCAT AND MAKE IT BIG ON TUSCL, BUT YOU BLEW IT!!!!

Instead, they came up with frou-frou drink specials involving orange juice and pinot noir and tried teaching unruly strippers a cabaret dance routine.

The updates since the rescue are here:

San Jose Guy likes his frou-frou drinks to contain goats milk.

They’ve “rescued” a few bars in Vegas and AFAIK only one still operates the way they left it. The most famous one was the Sandollar lounge which they renamed Bar 702. It’s back to the Sandollar but I think they kept the drink menu. Great blues hangout.
