It's possible that...

... not every single thing you notice in a strip club or online is linked to FOSTA.

I mean, there has been a profound effect and it's top-of-mind for good reason. But, take a breath and think a bit before blaming FOSTA for more small-boobed strippers in your local club.

Also, our adult hobbies existed and even thrived for thousands of years before the internet. This is something we should care about and watch, but all the pearl clutching is a bit much.

^^^Its Papis fault that the small breasted strippers are taking over, ever since he started taking a break the big boned girls have to take a second job jut to get their implants inflated. ;)

    Very good point, Ishmael.

And I realize I just posted about seeing more activity in the club, so if your post was directed at me partially, fair enough, although I am curious what people are actually encountering in clubs rather than the hand wringing and speculation about how the new law might play out.

Also, flagooner started a post recently about the “sky falling mentality”. I responded twice jokingly and I’m pretty sure flag was joking when making the thread. The thread got no traction.

So I wholeheartedly agree with you that we would all do well to relax a bit. But it is a big topic right now and on the minds of folks.

Ishmael - you make a valid point. Hopefully, this is a quick craze - that drops off considerably soon.

I’m sure some of the concerns are well founded. But there is a lot of speculation over the real effects of this new legislation.

Possibly the main underlying concern is - if this site will be effected?

This is NOT a quick thing -- the holders of political power AND communications influence, post election/repeal of net neutrality, will continue in this as long as possible. There have been major legal/PR campaigns against private activity, I. E. Prohibition, and while the pendulum MAY change, as it did then, it took decades.

"not every single thing you notice in a strip club or online is linked to FOSTA." is exactly what Fosta would say.

Remember this much, the government hates cash based businesses (legal or not) because it wants a paper trail so that they can extort taxes. Cash denies them of that. How many strippers do you know that actually claim how much they make ( if at all). And escorts, well forget about any taxes from them. How many times have you had someone do something for you or you have done "under the table" just to avoid the taxes involved. All the government cares about is the money.
