Feature Dancers vs Everyday Dancers

So a new club opened up in Detroit (Truth) and it seems like they have a featured dancer every week I'm assuming to bring in business.

But my question is how does feature night affect your actual dancers?? Wouldn't they get tired of people coming in for a gimmick and screwing up their money since the guys are only their for a feature.

Also, if you have any experiences with going to one of those feature dancer nights, how was it? Was there a good amount of dancers besides her, where they pissed about it? Just trying to figure out why a club would put such an emphasis on that instead of hiring more dancers

Where is this club located? Did it take over an existing club?

Years ago, a feature dancer tended to be a famous porn star. That could be enjoyable.

Nowadays, feature dancers are just average dancers with a gimmick. Half the dancers in the club are hotter than them. I’ve unknowlingly stumbled into some of these feature nights and they are horrible.

I’ve gone to clubs when they’ve had features. It is entirely dependent on the marquee value of the feature.

With feature porn stars - you might find lots of additional non-local guys. If it’s a well known porn star - like Lisa Ann - there will be a crowd. It will also interrupt the normal flow of business. Many regulars will probably avoid these nights - as they don’t want to deal with the crowd - and the lack of access to their primary dancer.

With other traveling feature dancers - it might not create such a crowd - and that might be better. It should provide less interruption to the normal flow of the club.

It’s probably something the club is doing to increase business. They might think the features will get the new club name out there - and then they will develop a base of return customers. There will be customers who only go for the features - so the strategy may not work.

I'm not big on nightshifts, which means I usually don't have the opportunity to see feature dancers even if I wanted to. In general I'm not into feature dancers. First, I'm not into porn stars in general. Second, and more importantly, my PL M.O. is to find a girl I like and invest time and $ in her, to reap the rewards of being a regular. Not the tiniest bit interested in getting dances from a girl who for sure won't be here next week.

I happened to go to a club on a night with a feature dancer. I remember that she was an on-the-decline porn actress and I recognized her name but don't remember it now.

The club was pretty dead but I stuck around for an extra 45 minutes just to see her show. She came out and did a lame stage show for one song, then on the second song she started encouraging the crowd to crumple up dollar bills. She sat in the middle of the stage and the PL's started throwing the bills at her vagina basket. I was underwhelmed.

The club did get busier as it got closer to her show and the dancers did start selling a lot more dances. I don't see how a feature dancer would be a bad thing if it brings in more patrons.

I've never been interested in a featured dancer....They'd have to get a few of the x-art girls to even get my interest..

Years ago I saw a feature dancer who was great on extras in vip because she was there for one night and didn’t give a shit about the club norm if it would limit her income. This was a no extras club generally so it was a nice surprise.

I’m a day shift guy now so I don’t expect to find out if I could get that same opportunity again.

I do agree also that the house strippers are usually hotter than the feature dancer. I can count on one hand the number of times that wasn't true

I’ve gone on feature nights a few times. Not for the feature, but because I knew a favorite who was working, or there were girls there that I especially liked. As others have noted, there is usually a significant percentage of local girls who beat the feature in the looks department.

I’ve found that in many cases, the local girls sort of resent the feature. In one club, the girls were required to disappear 10 minutes before the feature’s performance so as not to distract the customers. On more than one occasion, I got an extended VIP, or outside patio drink and talk session.

I remember one chilly fall evening at a *very* non extras club where I bought this girl a drink, and we went out on the patio and cuddled on the couch under her blanket for an hour for the price of that drink. No fucking, but a little making out and light petting under the blanket was nice.

I remember getting the evil eye from another PL. He’d bought *his* dancer a drink as well, but she had wrapped herself up in it, and left him outside of it, though she did at least let him put his arm around her. :)

It’s probably a good thing for club management - since it brings more business to the club. They sell more drinks - and get more cover charges - when a feature draws a crowd.

However, the club dancers might resent the way the feature gets more attention - and more of the $$$. I’ve had dancers complain to me about features a few times. It’s one of those times when my ears perk up - to hear some good dirt - lol!

Feature dancers were probably a bigger deal back in the 80s and 90s b/f the internet when PLs had less access to porn-stars - the feature-dancer thing I think it's kinda an old perhaps outdated SC business-model - seems many of the top clubs don't rely on this perhaps on rare occasions and it may be the clubs that don't know how to run a successful club that gotta resort to sorta obsolete gimmicks.

If clubs focus on making sure dancers and customers are treated-well, rather than trying to nickel-and-dime them, then IMO they have a better chance at having a successful club.

Walmart became the biggest retailer by offering customers the best-value, not trying to squeeze the most they can out of them or trying gimmicks.

Too many clubs treat the dancers like shit and charge them endless fees, and likewise custies - if it's a good club then both dancers and custies will wanna be there w/o the need for gimmicks.

Now a days, I will not go to a club when they have a feature dancer scheduled to perform. There was a time when I did go see feature dancers, but that was during the first 2 years I was going to clubs.

I remember I met kitten natividad at the Ypsilanti Deja bu in like 1984 or 85. The highlight was paying $5 for a Polaroid with her. I'd skip any features today, back then though I was young n dumb
