There is less of a need for strippers because of: sugar daddy websites, webcam girls, good free internet porn combined with everyone has good high speed Internet in just about every crevice of the country now.
When you go into a strip club strippers (just like the rest of the population) are detached and some even can’t communicate because they are overwhelmed by all the disctractions around them especially by the smart phone theyre holding in the hand.
DUIs which is nothing new, the one small saving grace of that is Uber/Lyft which has made getting to and from the club a little easier for some people. I know from experience as a frequent traveler to some smaller towns finding a taxi in the middle of the night was a miracle, or you’d have to wait 30-45 Min just to get picked up. Uber/Lyft has eliminated this problem in some areas.
C, but that's mostly because about 5 weeks ago I stopped liking it and the 3 times I have been since then have been boring, bordering on stupid. I am due for a break, temporary or permanent.
There are areas where the scene is strong and you can get what you want, but these areas seem to be the exception - over the years seems more and more cities have killed their SC scenes or severely restricted it
Im not an extras hound nor a mileage hound but theres still way too many areas where you cant even get a damn topless lapdance. Antique sex laws. Too many air dance clubs. Stupid laws that dont allow alcohol and nudity together. Too many clubs only with skinny white girls. No diversity. Dumb niggas with the "rain making" practice and its spreading like a wildfire. Theres more but its not worth the effort.
Yeah, B. Even the older late 30s early 40s dancers that encounter will quickly open up conversationally about how much better things were 10-15 years ago.
Fewer clubs to choose from. Fewer guys in the clubs. Higher fees and tipout. More surveillance and more rules.
In general, B. Although I think Baltimore has been hurtling toward C (the dreaded Richmond level) which is why I monger very little on my home turf anymore. I think it skews higher the farther south and/or west you go. Unlike most millennisls and younger, I do not consider cam girls and tinder the equivalent of a sexy curvy human who will generate pleasure for you at the right price. And I still think FS escorts in Canada are a better option than your typical strip club, especially those where the VIP rooms run $10/min or worse and don’t have extras.
In some areas of the country A some B. You can't go into a touristy club in Vegas after midnight on a Tuesday and see 1,000 ppl spending money and not say that is a pretty strong scene. OTOH, I don't go there because I am now older and want different things out of a SC visit.
I laugh when I read a review that starts with "this place isn't what it used to be ...." - I want to yell at them and say, neither are you. We complain that a place is not exciting anymore when it's still the same place, it's just that this might be your one hundredth visit and yes familiarity breeds contempt.
C
I haven't been to a club since last summer.
Too many rules, restrictions. Clubs getting shut down. If I could go back in time 10 or 15 years, paradise compared to now.
I agree its different for different areas. DC, utah, nashville, orlando, chicago proper are definitely C. Texas, florida(except orlando), phoenix, vegas(if you dont mind throwing your money away), SoCal, could be A.
Well, these results may suffer from polling bias due to an incomplete scale of available responses. Between A and B there should be something like "Ok/Decent." So I'll say somewhere between A and B.
A lot has been going on in the industry. The most obvious is a shakeout from 9 years of bad economic conditions, something that we are still only just recovering from. During that time, some of the weakest clubs died.
We are also seeing population shifts in this country, which have impacted clubs in different regions in different ways. Clubs in places like CT are bad right now from everything I have seen, yet clubs in my home area are doing well as the population here has grown quickly. There are actually more open clubs in my home region now than there were a few years ago.
In some areas, attitude shifts are hurting clubs, which certain cities/states have used as a basis for passing stricter laws that hurt clubs. Yet in other areas attitudes have remained largely unchamged. Also, these things are cyclical, as those of us who have been around for several decades are well aware.
And yes, there is more online competition for the adult entertainment dollar, but I'm not buying that as a major issue for clubs. These sites have been around for 15+ years and clubs were growing at the same time that they were. Also, much like strippers, cam models are also not making the money that they used to. I suspect that, when the tide comes in from a prolonged recovery and better work force participation rates,, it will come in for both strippers and cam models.
So this was a very long winded way of saying that the bias in this polling, which is no doubt designed to achieve confirmation bias relating to the state of strip clubs, may need some rethinking. ;)
Good point, @623, we do get a changed perspective as time goes on. And those who lived through boom years and rode high when the wave crested can get especially bummed out when things go flat.
