How to Have a Good Time at a Shitty Club?

Going to a club solely for the feature performer. Only reason I ever go there, as I consider the talent second-rate. So, assuming I have to kill an hour or two at this place, what is my best strategy for enjoying myself: Stage tipping (which I hate--rather get dances), or sitting at a table (which will force me to fend off more solicitations)? How many dances do I have to get just to not be an asshole?

With that in mind, the approaches by dancers should be less frequent since there will be more guys per dancer than normal. Likewise, the dancers will probably be less persistent because there are a lot more prospects.
Also, since that club's best talent will be there, you also stand a better than average chance at finding a dancer you actually would want for a dance and less customer competition for a dance with her since most of the guys will be there for the feature.
Otherwise, if there is a bar, sit there, since there will probably be another customer to either side rather than an empty chair for passing dancers to sit in and try to hustle a dance. I wouldn't worry about stage tipping the ones you're not trying to bring over, since the larger crowd will probably take care of the stage tipping.
FWIW, you can get zero dances and not be an asshole.
Approach the girl you want yourself. Get her sitting with you and get a front room makeout session going.
Then when it is time for your own pants to come down, you invite her to the back room. Then continue by taking her home with you and by seeing her regularly.
Strip clubs are like carnival freak shows, and the worst of it is buying dances.

I will say, just because you go to a club, don't think you have to get dances. I almost always go into a club expecting and wanting to purchase dances but sometimes the merchandise sucks so there's no dances to be bought. As long as you have a drink in your hand at all times (keeps the waitresses off your case), and tip a few dollars here and there (or sit far from the stage) you'll be left alone. Of course you'll have a stripper to two say something smart when you turn them down but that's always par for the course.
Since there's a feature entertainer the club will likely be very busy and nobody will notice a PL in the corner not spending money. I've been inside a club many times when a feature entertainer shows up and it seems like there's a whole different crowd of guys who are there solely to see the entertainer versus your regular run of the mill PL. Those guys are porn hounds and usually want a photo and or autograph from the entertainer.
Yes, we do.
If you want to actually get dances and enjoy the club - then try to interact with any of the dancers who you find worthwhile. Have a drink or two, have a positive attitude and enjoy the night.
Sit down at the table. There will be girls who walk up and are so unattractive and so unpleasant that you'll dismiss them right away. But at any club that's big enough to have a feature, there's enough girls on shift that there WILL be some girls with great, rockin' personalities. So as each girl approaches, if one is particularly fun, I let her know I'm not doing dances but will be happy to buy her a drink ... if it's crowded, she'll go find other guys, but if not, well now you have a fun drinking buddy who is going to keep all the other girls away and give you someone to talk shit with until the feature gets there. I do slide her a $20 now and then, if she stays a while, and keep the two of us in bottom-shelf shots.
I do this pretty regularly when I'm not attracted to any girls on the shift. I find features useless and can't fathom why anyone would go to a strip club to see one, but if I suddenly became insane and did so, that's my M.O. at an ugly club.
