  Actually (I know I'm being technical here) but to truly qualify for the Darwin award you must eliminate yourself AND ANY POSSIBLE DESCENDANTS from the Gene Pool. Which means causing any rugrats / genetic misshaps from breeding as well. So little drama involved, but the jerk who is too cheap to put a battery in their Carbon Monoxide detector and the whole family passes in their sleep, that's what really SHOULD qualify.
  
  I know this post is somewhat reprehensible, but yes, some people really do eliminate themselves from the gene pool. Others do stupid things, die horribly.... and have bastard kids in another trailer park down the road. The later occurrence is the true tragedy insofar as the human species is concerned.
