  I don't like it. I wish I could choose. Feels stalkerish for someone to go and read all of my comments, if they haven't been around to follow discussions as they happen.

  I don't think most of us use it that way.
  
  It does make it easier to locate a thread to either cite in another thread or bump when an epiphany hits about something discussed a while ago.

  Comments links probably does encourage stalking, or make it easier. But someone reall intent on that is going to do it anyway.
