At what age is fried bread in its prime?

Avatar for JimGassagain
JimGassagainBacon props!!

It's tasty in most aspects, yet looking for the optimal taste experience. Would it be day old, 3 days old, or with a little mold on it after a week or so?

Thank you in advance for your comments.

I'm sorry to neglect adding my own thoughts on this. Much like how stews, chili, and most sauce based dishes are better the second day because the flavor sets, is the way I like my fried bread

I gather that Gaffigan likes to eat, and in quantity.

The solar eclipse didn't eat away my appetite. There's no fried bread out here along the Outer Banks.

Kids are hungry from swimming all day, and I'm hungry from looking up at the sun's pie shaped look. Mmmmm....
