First Time in Vegas

Scanning the room from the back
I think we'll be at the Palms or Gold Coast, so just off the strip.
Found this article that seems to be pretty good: http://www.lasvegasdirect.com/finding-se…
Like I say, won't have a ton of time, so I'm thinking the runaround of trying to get at least an hour out of town to a legal brothel won't happen. I suppose I could try to troll the bar like the article suggests.
My first read on what I've seen is that Vegas is just kind of overpriced and a lot of flash with little substance. I'm almost wondering if it's even worth trying to monger at all. Interested in if you guys have any tips on how to get past that (or just tips in general).

Tips unrelated to SCs and vegas sex workers: Give the person a credit card sandwich at checkin (CC, a 20 or 50 bill, license) and calmly ask if they have any good rooms/upgrades available, and you'll often get a comp upgrade. Worst case scenario, they say no and slip you the money back. Favorite places to eat: Mon Ami Gabi (make sure you ask for the patio) and The Wicked Spoon. Favorite place to gamble - The Paris (honorable mention - PH at the tables when the sexy ass gogo dancers are working). Rewards tip - pick a Casino brand (Caesars/Harrahs TR or MGM Mlife) get a rewards card and stick with it as the place you gamble at. You'll earn points fast and start getting comped hotel room offers for future trips. I've only paid for a room in Vegas one time in the past 7 years.
Future tip: stay on the strip next time. The savings in money by staying off strip (even somewhere still considered mainstream like the Palms or Rio), are more than offset by the money spent on cabs and the time spent waiting for shuttles. To be able to get up and simply walk to and from your hotel is so much better.
Tips:
Use Uber/Lyft vs taxis. A lot of Uber drivers are stupid out there and don't know their way around but it will save you a ton of money.
Doing to escort scene is complex out there and the good ones are pretty expensive. If you just want to see some titties I'd recommend going to Sapphires or Spesrmint Rhino in the day, they usually have lower cover charges and good happy hour specials if you want to have some drinks. Yes they are tourist traps but isn't everything in Vegas?
Go to the Wicked Spoon buffet in Cosmo and play a bet on your favorite MLB team to win the World Series.
I had no control over where I'm staying, as the group has events going on. Again, as someone who's not a gambler, I don't see Vegas being someplace I'll visit that often on my own. Last year, I was able to get out of going, hopped a short flight to Detroit while they were gone and had an amazing night at Penthouse. Couldn't get away with it this year, though.
Looks like I might just find my way to Rhino or Palomino or something to see some hotness. I don't need to waste my time trolling dance clubs to potentially walk away empty-handed or with some girl who wants to find the nearest quicky chapel. Maybe I'll do like the article says and check out the hotel bar, but again, seems like that could be a waste of time where I'm at as well.
A bet on the Brewers to win the Series seems like an awful idea. The Packers to win the Super Bowl seems smarter.
Note - I was there a few weeks ago and took a female buddy to Wicked Spoon we were standing in line at 4:45pm (it opens at 5:00) she was making fun of me, and I said "just wait and see" and at 5:00pm there were 50 people behind us waiting and this was on an insignificant Wednesday. She said "now I see your point."
Go early - beat the line!
Vegas SC covers are high because taxi/uber/lyft drivers demand a kickback from the SC every time they drop someone off at the club. No kickback=the driver pushing the fair to a different club that WILL pay a kickback.
All the major SCs have free limo service. If there is a bar near the SC, take the cab to the bar and walk over to the SC.
I kinda had a feeling Vegas clubbing wasn't as great as one might think, especially with the prices I'm seeing. And given the group I'm with, if rather not go civvie-chasing. I'll leave it at that.
Some kind of Sin City, huh. All promise, no follow-through.
Good to know. Thanks again.
IDK if this applies to certain casinos or if that has been clamped down on; but in the past is what posters would post.
Extras are uncommon and/or expensive. So if that's what your after, yeah I'd stay away. That said I think you get decent mileage from often some incredibly hot strippers.
I prefer afternoons at Rhino or evening/nights at Palomino. Rhino is a little more relaxed in the afternoon, they'll also come pick up even a single guy for free and wave the cover (I've read this changed but also read it hasn't, I haven't tried it in a year or so). Palomino is off the beaten path, maybe to the point that it's not worth the trek if you have limited time.
Depending on when you'll be there, days of the week in particular, you probably want see much action at Gold Coast. Neither professional or civilian. Palms has some potential for more of both, but at the same time probably not great especially during the week.
I'd hit the strip, check out a few bars and see if you can find a civilian looking to make bad decisions. Vegas is full of them.
Fuck the taxis, use Uber/Lyft. If I can avoid it I'll never take another taxi in Vegas.
I recommend a brief visit to Fremont street, some cool stuff around there including the light show. Also a good place to make a few cheap bets if your not much of a gambler.
Now to politely disagree with a few things... Slipping hotel clerks the "sandwhich" stopped being a great idea a few years back, if not longer. If you want a free upgrade, ask for a particular one and tip them if they give it.
I think Bacchanal is better than Wicked Spoon in everything but price.
I'd skip Chicago Joe's personally.
As for the Bacchanal, thats the new one at Caesars right? Haven't been yet, but have heard some good things. The old one there was easily the most dissapointing one on the whole strip, so I'm glad they upgraded.
If we're talking three or four free hours at 3 p.m. on a Thursday, hitting up a strip club or meandering through the bar to see if there are any ladies feeling transactional seems less shameful than going to a dance club or trying to find a vacationer looking to make a bad decision. That's different than 9 p.m. on a Friday, but I'm thinking we'll be busy then.
I might just skip the co-curricular activity. Not sure if it's worth it.
Rhino's not far from where we'll be. We used to have a Rhino around here. It would be fun just to see basically the club all others are measured against, but the high-pressure tactics, and high prices, in the reviews make it sound like you pay through the nose for the brand there.
Play It Again Sam's also sounds fairly close and seems like hit-or-miss in terms of dancers. Might be worth a trip for a laugh, as long as I can bail quick if nothing seems appealing.
I could hit up Deja Vu and get a video sent back if I leave a positive review. That would be interesting. However, to be honest, the girls in the review videos ... not exactly all that appealing.
Hustler Club has a label that makes me think that might have potential for more fun. But it also sounds like a bit of a trap.
Eh, we'll see if I even have time to find out. Tempted to just take my golf clubs and kill time that way.
If you are out at night, say after 10:00 PM, I'd recommend Palomino. It's my favorite club, but I'm probably biased because most of my favorites are there. Alcohol, fully nude, but a bit cheaper than Rhino/Saphire. If it's any earlier than 10 PM, I'd go to Rhino.
OTC is pricey, but I wasn't gathering you were looking for that anyway. $1,000 is pretty normal, but I've been quoted $1,500 by a solid 7 on a number of occasions.
I second The Wicked Spoon, and definitely Mon Ami Gabi. I love Tacos El Gordo, if you like Mexican street tacos, or Hussongs for a more sit down type Mexican restaurant.
I'm still sticking with Silverton's Buffet as the best value buffet, too bad it's out in the middle of nowhere.
Is Rio buffet still decent? I haven't been there in years.
Personally, I don't find Vegas SCs to be super expensive, just mildly expensive. $20/dance or $3/100 VIP is fairly standard across the country. Now the ultra private VIP rooms can get rediculously expensive. Vegas does have more than it's fair share of ROBs, but it ain't hard to protect yourself from them. If you classify high mileage as being a good grind with a handful of titties and ass, then I'd say more than half of the LDs I've had in Vegas were HM. About a quarter were VHM. The rest were LM. I keep my junk in my pants and my tongue in my mouth so I can't tell you much about those extras, except that I've the most OTC offers from Sapphire.
I'm not hell-bent on extras. There will be a time and place for me to get to Detroit again for those. There's something to be said for just getting to have a super-hot chick in your lap giving you a great grind and letting you cop some feels, and 3/$100 is reasonable for that. It's one of the reasons I occasionally escape Milwaukee for the glam clubs around Chicago. I've gotten a few dances there from dancers that have claimed to have worked in Vegas.
Yeah, adding Rhino to my collection of clubs visited would probably be kind of a "third jewel" along with Penthouse in Detroit and, from its glory days, Brad's in Indy. The kind of place you go just to say you went. I know I tried to go to Scores in New York on a trip there, but they weren't open yet. Still probably need to make Mitchell Brothers O'Farrell and Tijuana at some point to truly say I've seen it all. Might be a good topic for another thread: The Mount Rushmore of strip clubs, LOL.
Palomino gets really good reviews, but it's also pretty far up the strip. Teo, I read your review of your last visit to Crazy Horse. I can see why you like the place. Doesn't look like it's too far from where I'm at, either. Might make for a decent second option.
But one thing to note: I'm not going to have my own room on this trip, and this isn't the kind of group that's going to think it's all that awesome if my roommate comes back to the room on a whim and catches me in flagrante delicto. So my room's out and I hear incall isn't as common in Vegas.
Escorts can be a pain. First, you gotta find one you like that's not off-the-charts expensive. Then you've gotta find reviews to make sure you're not getting busted or duped by fake pics. Then you've got to hope her verification process isn't ridiculous. Then you've got to negotiate. And if I'm not sure when I'm going to have free time, it's going to be hard to schedule something quickly.
I'm leaning toward something where I can see some nice flesh and claim I was at the Neon Boneyard if need be.
Just calling escorts from a site, any site, without first doing due diligence is an invitation to get a girl with fake pics at best, or, at worst, get busted in a sting. I don't care what kind of verification the site claims to have, if she's listed as VIP, etc. You don't just call.
My order of operations for if I see an ad that appeals to me:
1. Google her number. One of the first results should be her TER profile.
2. Check that profile and make sure her ads are consistent and her data is in line with what you're seeing.
3. Check a few reviews. I'd say at least five. Guys who have a good time will rave and at least one will verify if the pictures are real in the part non-VIPs can see. Usually, "good ones" will have at least a page of reviews and probably many more.
4. Don't trust someone with only a few reviews. Just like here, it's easy enough for someone to make two or three fake accounts and BS a good review, but the good ones will be clear.
When you take this approach, you discover that about 90 percent of escort ads are a waste of time. Most are fake. Those that aren't often use fake pictures, upsell or give crummy service -- not to mention, TER doesn't let you post no-show reviews. I end up with an escort about once every three or four years as a result.
This is why I club instead.
That said, everything I"ve read about the Vegas escort scene makes it sound as sucker-priced as the Vegas SC scene. When I go to Vegas, I don't indulge in either (well, an occasional SC trip), just no bang for the buck. If I can get 3 free hours, I'd rather go shoot machine guns (can't do it in my home state, so it's a thrill) and do other things I can't do here
Before I truly became aware of the world of extras, I tried my hand in escorts. The amount of research needed to find good ones, plus the risks of complete bombs, shady characters and LE just made it not worth it. I don't think I'll ever go back to that when I can pay a little bit more for much higher quality girls with less risk/research...and they audition for me as well.
Everything is ultra expensive. From the taxi (use Uber) to the cover to the drinks(even water) and the "expected" tips. I have only clubbed a couple of times there and never stayed or was not willing to spend enough to give a fair review watching the stage show only so I have never reviewed a Vegas club.
Like most everything in Vegas the clubs are tourist traps. If you are only seeking a stage show by all means go to the clubs. If you are seeking more then consider an escort service or an out of the city limits legal entertainment establishment.(see the first line of this comment)
I personally do not like Vegas or Atlantic city and only travel there for work spending as little time there as possible(I think gambling is stupid). I am not cheap an am willing to spend money but refuse to piss it away on neon bullshit. Vegas is about the sizzle, the glitz draws you in to spend on nothing of substance (gambling is the ultimate sizzle-"put your money down and you may win millions" NOT). If you want a clubbing vacation go to Detroit or TJ. The girls are just as good looking, more willing and way less likely to be ROB's.
Subra pointed out the CR example as to how you don't always know what you're getting in a club. You can get ripped off by a girl promising the world, or a softer sell can have surprising rewards (see my most recent review). With an escort, reviews and whatnot will make it clear.
There's one escort who visits my locale regularly who I keep trying to arrange a visit with because she's my kind of girl (redhead, curvy), gets awesome reviews and apparently is known to allow, ahem, a certain thing many escorts won't even do. But she's awful at answering her phone and, when we have set something up, she's stood me up twice. She's the shining example of both the opportunity, and pitfalls, of escorts.
In the end, that audition you referred to tells you a lot. You find out a ton about how fun a girl is by seeing her on stage or talking to her in person first. You don't get that in the escort realm.
The only problem with clubs is when you live in a non-extras, or even air-dance area. But you can always travel to one that is extras-friendly occasionally.
They had a sports bar, pool table and such off on the side of the main room, with multiple ladies hanging out (one playing pool with a group of guys). Several approached me and offered a tour, which ended in their room with a negotiation, and the first two were too expensive.
The third wasn't. She was decent looking, not exactly top scale stripper looking, but the first two that I was approached by weren't either. They all mentioned that I could go into the main room of the brothel and they'd call for a line up of all the ladies, I passed, feeling like I'd get too anxious under the pressure of having a line up of them all smiling for me, and feel more kinda obligated to make a deal with her after that. Not sure how many times you can go back and try again on the line up...
While they apparently are required to take you to their room before discussing prices and services, you aren't obligated to anything, and can go back and try someone else. I imagine doing this with the whole line up might feel awkward, but from them approaching me in the bar it didn't seem to be any issue. The last girl that I finally agreed to a deal with knew at least one of the other girls gave me a tour before her.
And that might have played a part her price, which was pretty similar to what a girl off the Internet would be for an hour (if you get one that shows up and does what you expect). I don't think I've ever got "everything" from a dancer in a club for less...
