Although weed is legal in Massachusetts, they have yet to sell it here as the Government in Taxachusetts needed "more time" to figure out how to tax it. My regular connection for the last 12 years came up with "ghost train" the last two times. I fear legal weed, manufactured corporately is going to put small boutique growers out of business and the quality will suffer. If you haven't smoked ghost train yet and you enjoy weed, you are missing out.
I don't smoke but I have two old friends in different states that grow and sell legally and are scared to death about what you're talking about. I don't blame them, they don't do a whole lot of work and make a shit ton of money.
I don't do drugs either, but a stripper on weed can be a very horny thing.
I wouldn't sweat the big corps much. Big Tobacco, Big Beer and iTunes rule the world, but you can still find boutique smokes, micro brews and vinyl LPs if you try.
Depending on how deregulation proceeds (if it proceeds...), the market may eventually segment in ways similar to beer. There will be huge macro producers, there will be small craft producers, and then there will be the home producers.
I know that I can buy beer at the store (and I do), but I also enjoy homebrewing my own beers, meads, and ciders.
That said, pot isn't my thing. I believe it should be legal, but it's not my thing.
I still think that the advantages of legal weed far outweigh the disadvantages. The most obvious advantage is that you don't have to worry about LE, and you don't have to be involved with dealers. I've bought weed from drug dealers with strippers several times, and I hate it. I sit in the car in this nasty neighborhood holding a gun while my young stripper goes into some thugs partment to make the buy. I don't need that shit.
And while the quality of the flower may sometimes not be as good, the quality and availability of edibles and concentrates is vastly superior under legalized weed. Also the selection of all forms of marijuana is simply amazing in a good legal store.
For those of you who don't do marijuana, you should start. Trust John and skibum, we are lawyers after all. And nothing besides perhaps viagra can enhance a strip club experience like some good MaryJane.
I have been lucky enough to buy from only two different people since 1989. My connection is a personal friend in real life. If I had to buy from strangers instead of someone I golf and play cards with, I'd be far more interested in legal weed. Interesting note: heard my first radio advertisement for college of cannabis.
My son in law has a medical card in MA and he also has an old friend who he buys from. He's mentioned ghost train as the best he's had, but says neither the dispensary in Brockton or one in the Woorcester area have had it. He usually has a vape and I've had a few hits of Hawaiian which he likes and it puts me on my ass where I can't drive for a few hours. I like to get mellow not intoxicated and he's been getting me 80 mg.edibles which I take 1 to 1 1/2 hours before going to a club or meeting a dancer otc. You should either get a card or a friend with one to specify the strength and variety. And I'm not even a lawyer.
I had a good friend who practiced criminal defense law in New Bedford and he frequently would barter for his fees from fishermen, drug charges, etc. I remember once he gave me 10 lbs of fresh scallops which was part of a fee he collected. He developed esophageal cancer and started smoking weed to minimize the effects of chemo and he had clients who paid him off with some primo 420. Bless his soul, it didn't extend his life but made the last few months more bearable.
Not a stoner but I partake every once in a while with dancers and civilian women. It honestly doesn't do much for me but one of the easiest ways to get laid is by a 420 match date. For some reason bitches be horny after they feel that high coming in.

Everyone picks their own poison.
All it ever did for me was to make me want to go to sleep.
