I read this morning that during the biggest of their awards shows they could not even announce the correct winner! I may a hick from the mid west but at least I could read a movie title from a printed card!
Guess what Hollyweed and media cronies: you need to PUT ON YOUR BIG BOY PANTS(OOPS BIG PERSON SLACKS), GROW UP, learn to read, pay YOUR fair share of taxes instead of telling me I do not pay my fair share when much of hollywood is constantly in illegal tax evasion mode blaming everyone but themselves when they are caught, realize that what you say is as irrelevant as your awards and if you do not start putting out decent movies you will be taking a pay cut.
Trump sure as hell is not going to throw price regulation supports and money at Hollywood to prop it up like Hillary had promised to do.(hollywood revenues have been decreasing for several years because movies are expensive and big screen tvs are hurting the theaters so they have been asking for price supports).
The crap the hollyweed-hypocrites turn out barely is worth the cost of a net flicks subscription much less a cost of a ticket! I barely have heard of the movies nominated and would not pay money to see any in the theater.
To summarize: Hollywood shut the fuck up and do your jobs before you do not have one!

As far as the government taking your freedoms or your money, first of all, there has never been any society where anyone can just do whatever they want anywhere any time. There need to be rules and restrictions on a number of things, like motor vehicles, fire arms, and to protect children from abuse, just to name some.
And then as far as money, understand that the government spends any tax money it collects. This government expenditure is what keeps the middle tier of wages in place. Without that, we would go the way of most societies, dividing into the very rich and the very poor. So if you have a good job or a good business, you should know that this mid tier of the economy is kept in place by government expenditure.

Going back to the original premise of the post: Beatty is obviously incapable of improvising or ad-libbing, otherwise he would have done something smarter than hand off the card to Dunaway, who was so greedy to announce the winner that she read off whatever title she saw. The classiest ad lib was by La La Land producer Horowitz, who said something along the lines of "being proud to give this Oscar to my friends at Moonlight". But the flub was caused by a starstruck idiot from PWC who was more concerned with tweeting photos of stars than doing his damn job. Trump is not the only executive who needs to turn off the twitter machine.
