OT: Abstain from Porn Challenge

What you say has merit. I lay off the porn for a couple of days prior planned sex with a real person.

For some reason, I'm the opposite. I've tried the abstaining from porn days before a planned SC trip, but I've found I get into it even more and perform even better if I don't change up my routine.

My record is two months, which I did a few years ago. I have since frequently abstained for weeks at a time, sometimes a whole month. It used to be a habitual thing for me, almost like clockwork every few days get online and browse until I find something I like and then rub one out. But since practicing, I have found my porn consumption has gone down considerably the last few years. Now a week without porn is quite normal.

My record is 23 years....i'm 25. I just quit recently.

I imagine more interesting porn in my sleep and the girls are interactive. They seem so real that online porn often seems boring. I can't turn off the girls in my dreams. They suck first and talk later.

Sorry - that would be setting myself up for failure. I'm able to go 48 hours without hardcore porn - but that's the longest I can go.

Similar to what a21 posted; watching porn often gets me really worked up to hit a SC - problem for me is when I can't contain myself from slapping the monkey and thus waste my ammunition b/f I get a chance to hit the SC.

This is a major issue with the younger generation and it's so bad that there are support groups out there for it.

Guys and get off easily by themselves while watching porn but cannot get it up or aroused when with a real woman because they've masturbsted so much.

I started seeing someone new (not a stripper) and we both commented how we watch porn and masturbate a lot and how it's affected our performance. This girl claims to masturbate usually once or twice a day, and I usually do around 6 times a week.

My best advice it to lay off it and masturbating a few days before you have a planned encounter. Do wait a week or weeks (that can give you the same result of doing it everyday). Eventually you will find your sweet spot, whether it be a day, two days or four days, you'll figure it out on your own. For me, it's two days of abstinence to make a sex session really enjoyable even if the girl doesn't get me all horny the moment I see her naked.

I've been there. A five week porn abstention helped reprogram / re-calibrate my mind. All things in moderation.

I agree abstinence helps to make one more able to have sex with real women.

I'm not sure there is a moderate limit to those unless it's 0. That may be a question for Danny Bonaduce though. I think he helped invent the market for those.

As GoV mentioned, I've been mostly off porn now for something like 8-10 weeks. I didn't cut it out completely but I cut at least 90-95% of my porn viewing. Now it's very rare and brief that I look at porn.

Overall this has been a positive change. Sex in the real world has gotten better. Like the OP said, I had gotten to the point where a naked woman hardly got me excited anymore. I required an extraordinary slut doing all sorts of nasty shit to even get me interested.

I'm not sure how long Ill keep this up but probably for a while. And if/when I do return to porn on a more regular basis, I will definitely make less use of it going forward than I used to.
