You can't put on religious stuff, or have even voluntary prayer, in the public schools. The reason that the courts decided it this way is that if you allow such prayer or religious material then it amounts to setting up an official religion. This is prohibited by the 1st Amendment.
One of the things the court looked at in this Madalyn Murray O'Hair case from Baltimore were accounts from all over the country where there had been extreme and violent harassment of persons who refused to partake of voluntary prayer.
Unless you prohibit even voluntary officially sanctioned prayer, the schools are unsafe.
Motorhead, what you are describing as an 8th grade public school play is totally unnecessary. That kind of thing should be done in a church, not the public schools. That the television networks put it on is their business. But it has no place in the public schools, as it only leads to grief and it is part of an organized attack on personal liberty.
Very brave to fight for the freedom to believe what you want, and still be safe and able to live without persecution. youtube.com
You don't have to like it mikeya02. But public schools are tax payer funded. This is a country which has no official religion and is prohibited from having such by the 1st Amendment to the Constitution.

I'm not complaining about Christmas or Charlie Brown. I like that television program myself, and I like the Lukan Infancy Narrative.
But I also know that it is not appropriate, and now not lawful, to use the public schools to put that out.
