Hey guys! I've never been to this club and never had any interest in stopping by because of its reputation. From what I can tell it has an unusual setup. It's a black night club that also has dancers.
I caught this in the article: Akron police have been called to the strip club 129 times since the beginning of 2012. Twenty-nine of those calls came this year, according to records.
A lot of those calls, apparently, is the club turning in people trying to sneak weapons in.Gatsby's North is nearby and they never seem to have any problems. The Ace of Spades is at the top of my DO NOT VISIT list.
Yes Carlos I knew the bad rep this club has. I visited it one time when it had another name. I was in and out in 2 minutes and never had a desire to give it another try.
Gatsby's is across the street, it's crazy how different these two clubs are when only a few hundred feet separate them.
I'm surprised the have managed to stay open with a rep like that. Shows how big of a difference enforcement is from one part of Ohio to another. Here in Cincinnati the politicians and cops would have revoked the license of a regular club after a fraction of those police calls. With a strip club we would a single incident would be grounds for a year long sting until they caught someone red handed.
Whodey, huge difference. The area they're in was gang territory for years. The old, abandoned Rolling Acres mall is across the street. The cops are constantly checking it for drugs and gang activity. If you get a chance, check out the YouTube videos on it. People have broken it to ride dirt bikes through the place, and most of what's inside has been destroyed. i honestly believe the only things keeping this club open are (1) it attracts a crowd and makes money and (2) most of the other businesses nearby have moved out. There's really no one to complain. The club can always argue that they're doing their part by searching everyone and turning in anyone who shows up with a weapon. I just can't imagine ever wanting to go to a club where I felt I had to arm myself or stopping at one where the other patrons regularly try to sneak guns in.
