I've also heard most of these things from women. Of course, I've never been shy about asking and taking their advice, unlike, apparently, many of the male friends of the women in the article.

Not that I'm successful all the time, of course, but more often than not the cause is someone who is reluctant to tell me what she likes. There are still lots of girls who tell me that whatever I'm doing is good, when even I can tell it's not.
