Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life
The govenor of Hawaii just signed into law a bill that wood raise the minimum agr to smoke to 21.

I hate cigarettes. I despise the smell of cigarettes and hate being around smoke. But this is another example of government overstepping its bounds. How can you ask an 18 year old to go out and fight and die for our country, but he can't smoke a friggin' cigarette.

Selfishly, the less I'm around smoke, the happier I am, but this a very slippery slope we are heading down.

I love Detroit strip clubs, casinos and Vegas, 3 places you can still freely smoke, and all a living hell to the sinuses of a nonsmoker like me and Motörhead.

I even hate sitting at a stop light and smelling the smoke coming from the driver in front of me going through my cars a/c system!

Agreed, this is over stepping bounds.

I think the minimum age for smoking should be 75.

Smoking is banned in Detroit strip clubs, except in special smoking areas. But the rule is regularly ignored. Who would believe that laws would be disregarded in Detroit strip clubs?

The most absurd rule is that a girl can strip at 18 but not drink until 21. At the club where the DS works, for example, I get her high, and I feast upon her body both visually and sexually. No problem. But if I gave her an alcoholic drink they'd fire her and kick me out in a heartbeat. Several younguns have been fired for taking a drink. I'm sure they do this because of LE. Insane.

    I don't smoke. Never have.

It doesn't bother me much that a girl I'm sitting with does either.

I know the governments tax the hell out of cigarettes, but people still buy them like crazy. They make a ton of money off of the taxes. I often find it funny that they run all these public service announcements about the effects of smoking and pass all kinds of laws as to where and when people can smoke.
But if everyone up and quit buying inch cigarettes tomorrow, they'd be FUCKED because where would they close the huge financial hole of money coming in from smokers?
It's so hypocritical. We want you to stop, but we need the money from your "habit".

Same thing with the gasoline tax. With more efficient gasoline cars and electric cars, revenue is going down. So to replace it they are proposing a mileage tax.

Let's use common sense and compromise. Make everyone a legal adult at 19. They can smoke, drink, strip, and go fight for our country and die at 19 if they want.
I bet some people would want the age lowered if they thought after death, they would come back and live another life. Imagine what a pain it wold be having laws against you drinking smoking, etc because we live in a woosy society that is prudish and doesn't have common sense? It'll likely happen in your next life unless you're reborn overseas.
I think this is a good way to think to put yourselves into other shoes. What if you had to live life over again with all these age laws?

I had a few drinks as a teenager. I had no problem. no one was driving though. Not many even cared if I was underage. You could even buy beer at the convenience store without anyone checking Id. I had friends routinely drinking at 15 or 16 but I wasn't hanging out with them. My cheap cough medicine as a little kid was a shot of whiskey or hard liquor administered by an adult. When I went to work, my safety instructions were, "Be Careful!". end of story. now this country acts like you need a permit to buy a beer.

Oh and there were no incidents of mass shootings when I was a kid but just about any adult could go buy a gun and there were no gun free signs anywhere.
As far as Obama and others politicking after recent shootings, if they practice what they preach, they should ban all firearms from people and body guards in their vicinity to create. completely gun free zone and see how well that works for them. Not even the police old be allowed to have firearms near whomever thinks gun free zones work to protect those inside. Idiots in my opinion unless you have armed guards preventing entry to the gun free zone.

I went with a dancer Wednesday night to the upstairs smoking room at the Harem in Dayton Ohio. She said she had to take a break and smoke a cigarette. We stood facing a wall as she smoked her cigarette. She even blew smoke in my face. The more she smoked the harder my dick became. I don't smoke but I didn't mind at all. She was stroking my dick the whole time we were up there LOL !!!

I agree with the general consensus here that it's another example of the government control slippery slope becoming steeper and more slippery.
They continue to tax the hell out of cigarettes even while they try to make them illegal. What do you think they'll come after for their tax revenue if they succeed in banning smoking. Whether you smoke or not be aware that while they continue to seek revenue eventually they will tax something you like while they tell you how bad it is for you while trying to get you to not do it or quit using it. Then it will be on to the next thing that they deem evil.
