Drug Referred To As “Viagra For Women” Under FDA Scrutiny

Men have had their “little blue pill” for quite some time now, with all of its warnings about things lasting 4 hours and whatnot. Turns out there’s a female version of Viagra in development – but it may be a while before it sees the light of day. Or the dark of night, as it were.
It seems there are still some issues about potential side effects to be addressed before the drug, called Flibanserin, can hit the market – but a vote on moving forward with the libido-boosting drug for women could happen later this week.
Ladies, would you take it? Could nefarious dudes get access to the drug and abuse it (e.g. spike a girl’s drink)? And my big question – would it be covered under medical insurance the same way that Viagra is for the guys?

Sounds like I've finally heard of a pill my wife WON'T take. :(

My medical insurance used to cover my Viagra, but they stopped. So I've been buying it at on-line pharmacies, most of which ship from India. Their ads can be quite salacious and they've been advertising "female Viagra" for quite some time. Reading the fine print, it is just sildenafil ( same as my blue ones) colored pink. There is no clinical evidence that this pharmaceutical positively impacts a woman's libido.
Flibanserin would be welcomed by many men and some women, but would certainly make some drug company rich. As well as impacting libido, I wonder if this medication might make achieving orgasm easier for those women who have difficulty getting off?

Couldn't give that to the DS. She might give me a heart attack. But I'd sneak some of that in my wife's coffee every morning.

Nope. The day I need something like that is the day that I turn in my PL card.

Win for Motorhead. I can make any woman be hot for me if I have enough money.

There are plenty of women who have tried viagara. It increases blood flow but not necessarily horniness. It could be helpful when the brain wants sex but the body isn't cooperating.

With a medication like this, the side effect bar is set a lot stricter than for cancer or heart drugs. A lot of effective drugs have toxicity issues.

I hope they get approved, but we also don't need another vioxx
