So "jv" is a term (at least as far as I know) that is used to designate junior varsity. Such as, "members of a team who are not the main players".
We all knew Troop, well the older members, now I see a jvTroop. Just wonderin'.

When I was a kid, they called it "the B-Team"
At some point, the New Agers must have decided that was a politically incorrect name and it was changed to "junior varsity" or more commonly, JV.

Clubber - I had the same thoughts.
motor head - must have been a regional thing. When I attended high school in So. Cal. it was junior varsity.

JV for me as well.
Likely no connection, but still seems a bit weird to me. New Troop has one club "review" in Alabama and the old, all in Ohio, except for a rant on a Key West "club".
