SEATTLE -- While most people were happy to barbeque with friends and family, police say one man celebrated Independence Day by robbing a Lake City strip club.
It was just before 10:30 a.m. on Friday when the manager of Dreamgirls on Lake City Way said a stranger approached him outside the business armed with a handgun.
The gunman forced the manager inside and proceeded to rip out the club's phone lines, according to police. After ordering the manager and a custodian to lay on the floor, the robber grabbed what police describe as a "large amount of cash" and left the club in a blue or gray SUV.
The club was not yet open and nobody was hurt during the robbery.
Police have not released a detailed description of the gunman.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the SPD Robbery Unit at (206) 684-5535
