A more accurate measurement of wealth would not concentrate on income without looking at the costs associated with living in those states (housing, taxes, et al).

2011 figures for the two areas of Canada where I operate:

    Alberta: Median family income - $89,830; population - 3,645,257

    NWT: Median family income - $105,560; population - 41,462

C'mon up here and make some serious money. Beats the #1 USA state (Maryland) all to crap.

Art - What good is all the money gonna do when there isn't a decent strip club to be found?

I'd rather make a lot of money where everyone else appreciates the money I do spend and we're not fighting over dancers or resources. On the other hand I see others try to maximize their income, then retire south to a warmer lower income state or country.

I wonder what are the ten highest income states after all taxes are paid? For individuals and families.
