A more accurate measurement of wealth would not concentrate on income without looking at the costs associated with living in those states (housing, taxes, et al).
I'd rather make a lot of money where everyone else appreciates the money I do spend and we're not fighting over dancers or resources. On the other hand I see others try to maximize their income, then retire south to a warmer lower income state or country.

C'mon up here and make some serious money. Beats the #1 USA state (Maryland) all to crap.
