Rights Versus Patheticness

If someone has the right to do something does that mean that those who choose to exercise that right are not being pathetic? Seems to be a popular argument. However, I notice that the same people will criticize RL for resurrecting old threads, not replying to follow ups, whatever, when certainly he has the right to do these things.

Where do you stand on the rights versus patheticness issue? Is your thinking consistent?

Another one of Yoda's favorite debating tactics: answer a question totaly different than the question asked (often "pretending" to misunderstand the question).

Anyway, what I was thinking was this: Even though the old "men" here do have a right to spend money on LDs or conversation if they like the fact that they are regularly spending money in this way certainly makes them pathetic. They are exercising a right but being pathetic at the same time.

Davids: It's a chat board. Everybody has the right to do watever they want. It doesn't mean others won't comment-either positively or negatively about it. If we don't it ceases to be a chat board.
