TUSCL - Limiting Reviews on One Club?

DougS
Florida
I was surprised to find that when I went to enter a review for my second visit to the same club in as many days, I received an error saying that I cannot post a review for the same club within six weeks of the last review. WHAT?!

I suppose I can see the reasoning for this, so that someone can't just fill up the review sight with a bunch of reviews. Also, since each review extends your VIP membership by a month, I can see where it should be limited, too.

On the other hand, I use TUSCL as a sort of journal of my visits. I refer back to prior reviews to jog my memory of certain details. Also, I enjoy updating everyone on the goings on for each visit.

When was this limitation put into place?

I some times post on the club message board if I need to add more information a good club however the message boards don’t get much traffic on tuscl.

I liked one month better simply because it was easier to check. Seems like there should be a warning message if you click on post review and you already posted one within 6 weeks. I remember someone mentioning the change in a discussion back a few months ago. I definitely don't see a need to post a review after every single club visit especially if you're a regular at a club. I usually just post information about my most recent visit. The way things were 2, 3, or even 4 weeks ago is old news especially if it's the same ol same ol stuff going on in a club.

The way around this is to include multiple visits in one review. I just did this for the Booby Trap in FL.

I myself don't see the point of writing a review after each visit. You could have a great visit today and a terrible visit next week, but that doesn't change the essential nature of the club. Nothing about my favorite club has significantly changed since I last wrote a review for it, so write a message saying nothing's changed? Some of the dancers change, but that doesn't really affect what you feel about a club, unless you suddenly met your new ATF. I only write a new review of a club I visit a lot if either something significant changed or if I need to keep my membership going. And I don't need to worry about my membership at this moment.

When I used to visit a perticular club frequently I never bothered to review it very often, only if and when there was a significant change. And when I read reviews I don't want to see the same information repeated over and over again, what's the point of that? And I have no interest in hearing that Tiffany gave you a good LD one night but Mercedes gave a lousey one the next night. Chances are when I visit neither of them will be there anyway and even if they are they're not likely to be my type, so that's useless info to me. TUSCL's policy is a good one.

I haven't clubbed a lot in the last year, and thus never even knew that a 4 wk limit had been imposed.

We all agree that it DOES make sense for several reasons. Maybe it was mentioned in the blurb about posting rules that show up when posting a comment (guess I didn't pay attention if it was), but had I realized the limit, I'd have waited until the end of the week to post my review for all of my visits... now, for at least two clubs, I will not be able to detail my exploits.

(I guess you all can breathe a sigh of relief for not being subjected to further rambling posts)

I like the limit. It actually reduces my ability to "rack up" numbers in the "top 40" reviewer listings, since I used to have the practice of visiting and reviewing the same regular clubs, since that was my own clubbing experience. I had always realized that this was a method of me providing information that was unfairly privileged (because the top-40 system counted TOTAL reviews instead of CLUBS reviewed) and realized I was taking advantage a bit. Now, I HOLD on my reviews of a given club, so that any time I post something it's generally NEW INFORMATION, not just a review in which I say, "Well, I went back, and nothing has changed, so I guess that's useful information."

Doug: I've been a member for a yr, found out early on that there was a 4 wk limit to reviewing same club, went to 6 wks earlier this yr. What I've done with multiple visits to same club in a wk , or wkend, is place overall composite grade, with particular visit grades/explainations in the review.
