Digital Playground's ‘Top Guns' Breaks Pre-order Sales Record

VAN NUYS, Calif.—Record-breaking pre-order sales is a strong indicator that Top Guns will be Digital Playground's bestselling adult film of 2011. The company reports that it has been flooded with order requests for the movie from all over the world.

“We've never seen anything like this since Pirates,” says Peggy Mac, Digital Playground's vice president of sales. “The interest in this movie is extraordinary.”


Retailers have been bombarded with pre-order requests, the company reports. To meet the increased customer demand, retailers are busy adding to their original orders for the 2 DVD + 1 Blu-Ray Combo Pack. To date, pre-order sales numbers for Top Guns have already surpassed those of bestselling Digital Playground titles Body Heat, Fly Girls, Teachers and Nurses.

“We're so excited about the phenomenal sales numbers,” Digital Playground CEO Samantha Lewis said. “We expect the sales of Top Guns to explode and soar to new levels.”

The stars of the movie—Jesse Jane, Kayden Kross, Riley Steele, Stoya and Selena Rose—are gearing up for their publicity tour at stores across the country.

“We are very happy with the movie,” Joone, Digital Playground founder, said. “So we're pleased with the pre-order sales of Top Guns. Everything about this movie is non-stop excitement; a fun ride that will appeal to a broad audience.”

Jane and Steele play the two best female fighter pilots in the Air Force. Stoya and Kross are their arch-rivals from the Navy. The movie's loaded with high-flying adventure and six explosive sex scenes, including an all-girl orgy.

Much of the buzz has been generated by the trailer for Top Guns, which has gotten more than a million views at TopGunsXXX.com. The YouTube version of the trailer can be seen here.

The million-dollar blockbuster streets March 8.

“I've never worked on a movie with this kind of budget and on this big of a scale,” director Robby D said. “The production value here is absolutely top-notch.”
