4th Arrest In Strip Club Abduction, Torture Case

GLENDALE, Colo. -- A fourth suspect has been arrested in the Glendale abduction of a woman who was tortured nearly 20 hours, police said Thursday.
Justin Drake Wasinger, 21, was arrested Wednesday without incident in Mesa, Ariz., by U.S. marshals, Glendale Police Chief Victor Ross said in a new release. He remains in custody in Arizona pending extradition to Colorado.
Glendale investigators had been working closely with the U.S. marshals' fugitive apprehension teams in Colorado and Arizona in the hunt for Wasinger, who was spotted in Tempe, Ariz., last weekend, Ross said.

"He has an extensive criminal history and we do consider him to be extremely violent and possibly armed as well," Ross said when Wasinger was still at large.
Meanwhile, three other suspects in the torture case were arrested Saturday in San Diego. They were identified as Kalena Joeckel, 22, Kelly Mahana, 22, and Jessica Escedy, 19, police said.
Police suspect the trio were attempting to flee the country to Mexico, Ross said.
The victim, who is in her mid-20s, was drinking socially with Joeckel and Mahana at an Englewood bar Oct. 22, Ross said. They all decided to go meet Escedy, who was involved in an amateur dance contest at Shotgun Willie's strip club in Glendale, Ross added.
In the strip club parking lot, one of the suspects accused the victim of stealing something out of her purse.
"I don't know if it was money or what ... but there was an altercation," Ross said.
They punched her, knocked her out while she was in her car, and then drove her to an apartment in the southern metro area, Ross said.
"Once there, the woman was bound and gagged, blindfolded and beaten repeatedly for nearly 20 hours ... and for whatever reason, they decided to let her," Ross said.
The victim was driving home, making her escape, when she got into a single-car crash in Sheridan, Ross said.
Sheridan police responded to the crash, saw the victim's significant injuries and heard the victim tell them what happened, and that's when they contacted Glendale police.
Glendale officers interviewed the victim at the hospital and started on the investigation.
"She had significant injuries. The orbital bone in her face (eye socket) was broken. ... They weren't life-threatening injuries, but they were substantial," Ross said.
The victim has no health insurance, and friends have created a fund for her. You can donate to the "Benefit for Monique Fund" at any BBVA Compass Bank.
The victim was acquaintances with Joeckel, but had not met the two other suspects prior to that night, Ross said.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Glendale Police Department at 303-639-4328.

It's too bad we don't have a gulag, or Devil's Island for these types of assholes. Maybe we should build one on one of the Aluetians.
