Naked man flees alleged kidnappers

LORAIN — A 27-year-old Lorain man told police he jumped off a balcony and fled naked from a Tower Boulevard apartment to escape a kidnapping, according to a police report.

The man claims he got two calls from a 19-year-old woman at the apartment earlier in the day inviting him over to have sex. Because he was suspicious, the man said he left his jewelry and wallet in his vehicle and parked it at an apartment complex across the street.

He went to the door and the woman let him in to the apartment. As they undressed and got on the bed, the woman's bother, Tyrone White, 18, and another man jumped out from hiding, attacked him with a Taser, then tried restraining him with duct tape, according to the report.

The man said he was able to fight off his attackers and jump from the third-floor balcony.

The 19-year-old woman and White told police the man showed up at the apartment with two other men, pushed her out of the way when she answered the door and attacked White, according to the report. They said the other two men did not enter the apartment and fled when the woman started screaming. White also told police he believed the man was the shooter or a person involved when he was shot in the leg Aug. 18.

The third suspect told police he was in another room of the apartment with the woman's baby and did not see the attack. Several witnesses told police they saw the man arrive at the apartment alone and saw him run away naked. One man said he gave the man a pair of shorts to wear.

White's stepfather returned home and gave police permission to search the apartment. Officers found the victim's clothes, his keys, a roll of duct tape in the garbage can and a long piece of duct tape with hair on it, according to the report.

White was charged with robbery and kidnapping and was taken to Lorain City Jail.

Lorain police Sgt. Mark Carpentiere said charges have not been filed against White's sister or the other suspect, but the case is still under investigation.
