Lot Lizards

There's a Flying J not far from where I work and I frequently stop there. They recently contracted with local Deputies to work and patrol there. Prior to that, though, the thing I saw that shook me up:

He was obviously homeless and had been for a while. The girl with him looked about fifteen. She must've been a recent runaway because her hair, clothes, and cuticles were still well maintained. Why she would want to be with a loser like that boggles my mind. They were panhandling.

With that said, in 1980, I participated with a federal task force in 1980 to get runaways off of the streets of New York City. 25,000 of them were rounded up. Within a year, 80 percent of them were back. One kid broke my heart. She was twelve and pregnant. Her mom was long gone and her dad refused to take her back. He was an abusive son of a bitch. I wanted to punch his lights out. Several overloaded agencies also refused her. Finally, a group home in Montana took her.

Lot lizards are just another type of street walker in my opinion. They would not be of interest to me. I do wonder if they have a TUSCL for truckers to review lot lizard locations and names lol

I have stopped at a few trucker stations when I travel because they are usually open 24/7 and have a fast food restaurant inside that is also open 24/7. I have not witnessed any lot lizards but then again I have not looked.

There is a Waffle House at the intersection of GA74 & I-85. There is a huge truck stop next door and a Motel 6 2 blocks away. Need I say more?

Never thought of it till I read it here, but now it makes sense. I was traveling with a friend in a large motor coach. We were somewhere along I-10. We had made a few "J" stops, but this one I remembered well when reading this. There were a couple of women there that looked so out of place, sitting together at a table. I don't remember the particulars, but there was some conversation between us, somewhat hooker like, but it went no further. Now, I would bet that they were hookers. And we had that major motor coach just there for us. :)

Dang, I need gas, I haven't seen any hookers there at "J" but I'll have to look now. LOL

I remember once talking to someone I believe to have been a lot lizard at a truck stop on I-80 once between Des Moines and Omaha. I remember being creeped out by the experience and her grotesque lack of beauty. Not very pretty at all.
