This has yet to prove a blessing, as I have yet to win an auction. I bought the minimum number of bids to try it out, $24 for 40 bids. So the curse is I'm out 30 bids thus far. AND A WHOLE SH*TLOAD OF TIME!!!
The timewaster? www.swoopo.com. And to think a blog I read mentioned it as a money-saving website.
I have never been to auction style strip club before..but I could see it possible for strip clubs to hold auctions for lap dances from a feature dancer.
If they used a similar scam auction system as swoopo they would made a tidy profit.
Sam, I think that would be waaaay too complicated for strip clubs.
Anyways, here's the data from yesterday's Swoopo session:

Swoopo says all products are new. So, how does it work? Take the iPad which sold for $81.46. That auction lasted around 5 hours or more. Each bid costs 60 cents to make but are in one penny increments. While Swoopo could theoretically bag 8,146 bids @ 60 cents per, totaling $4,887.60, for an item worth much less, I do believe the price jumps sometimes 10 or 20 cents between bids (didn't figure that out.) When does an auction end? When the timer runs to zero and someone doesn't bid (bidding puts more time on the clock.) Course folks hold back in hopes someone else does it at the last moment, saving them the bid expense.
