Viagra may treat infertility; helped woman to become pregnant

Viagra, the blockbuster anti-impotence pill for men, has helped a husband and wife have a baby girl. But, the strangest part of this story is that the erectile dysfunction medication wasn't given to the husband but to the wife!

A British woman experienced a miraculous event after she gave birth to a baby with the help of the men's sex-drive booster, Viagra.

Viagra appears to help women conceive
In a groundbreaking experiment conducted at CARE Nottingham fertility clinic, David and Kerry Horan have been blessed with a baby girl Grace, after the mother was given Viagra.

Kerry had previously suffered from a miscarriage and was unable to get pregnant despite IVF treatment.

The thrilled Kerry and hubby David, 33, are now proud parents to a baby girl, thanks to male sex pill Viagra.

Kerry's happiness knew no bounds after the scan result showed that her womb wall had thickened enough for doctors to implant IVF embryos

Kerry suffered a miscarriage and three rounds of failed IVF since her marriage in 2002 to husband David.

After scanning her womb, doctors found that the blood flow around it was poor and that its lining was too thin for an embryo to be implanted properly.

After miscarriage and repeated failed IVF, Dr. George Ndukwe at the private CARE Nottingham fertility clinic prescribed the heartbroken Kerry the impotence drug Viagra, the Sun reported.

The 34-year-old Kerry then became a mother after doctors broke new ground by treating her infertility with Viagra, according to the British tabloid.

"It can improve the lining, but can be dangerous and must be taken under supervision," the Sun quoted Dr Ndukwe as saying.

During the treatment period every day doctors gave her another scan which showed that the wall of her womb was thick enough for the experts to implant embryos.

They treated the woman for nine days with Viagra that finally led to a conception and the birth of a 6 lbs 11oz baby girl, Grace.

Method wasn't too pleasant
However, Kerry, of Huddersfield, West Yorks, said that taking the high dose of the drug was not a pleasant experience and that she wasn't even too confident that it would work.

"I was shocked when they mentioned it, but willing to try anything. Minutes after taking it my body went pink and my face bright red, the Sun quoted Kerry as saying.

"I took Viagra for nine days and it wasn't a pleasant experience."

But, Kerry's happiness knew no bounds after the scan result showed that her womb wall had thickened enough for doctors to implant IVF embryos. She fell pregnant two weeks later and gave birth to daughter Grace in December.

"When we saw the baby's heartbeat on a scan we couldn't stop crying. When I finally held Grace it was the most emotional experience. Thanks to Viagra I'm a mother at last!," said Kerry, a teacher by profession.

The new mom is believed to be the first successful case.

Viagra, developed by the pharmaceutical company Pfizer, is mainly used to treat male erectile dysfunction (impotency) and pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Drugs like tadalafil (Cialis) and vardenafil (Levitra) also perform these functions.

In future it is likely that all three aforementioned erectile dysfunction drugs will be used to treat a whole range of different blood flow problems from arterial disease and heart disease but more research needs to be done to ensure that they are safe for these applications.

Sneezing, headache, flushing, dyspepsia, prolonged erections, palpitations and photophobia are some of common side effects linked to Viagra. Visual changes including blurring of vision and a curious bluish tinge have also been reported.

Interesting post. A stripper at Heartbreakers said she crushed up Viagra and put in her husbands food as he could not keep up with her bc stripping made her really horny. I told her I would not mind "pinch-hitting" for him.
