Julie Benz Goes from the Bathtub to the Strip Club on Desperate Housewives

Julie Benz may have been even more surprised than the viewers were by her bloody bathtub demise on Dexter, but her shock and despair has to be somewhat dulled by the news of her new gig: a revealing new part on Desperate Housewives.

Entertainment Weekly reports that the baby-voiced blonde has been cast as a stripper with a heart of gold and a brain of... a really smart kind of metal. Benz will play Debbie, an exotic dancer with a Masters degree who longs for a more legitimate job; when Susan (Teri Hatcher) offers her exactly that, Debbie jumps off the stripper pole and into a sensible pantsuit.

Benz will appear on at least three episodes of Desperate Housewives (the first of which will air in February), and we sincerely hope the ladies of Wisteria Lane don't initiate her into their group by inviting her to their daily Botox parties.
