Wednesday, July 15th at 9PM ET, repeating at 10PM and 1AM ET.

It was once too taboo to talk about, but not anymore. In the new CNBC original production "Porn: Business of Pleasure" nothing is off limits when it comes to the controversial multi-billion dollar industry that aims to please but has been known to offend.

The porn industry has changed technology and can be found in millions of homes, hotel rooms and hard drives across the country. BUT, the business is facing economic challenges. It's under assault and not just from the many critics who see it as socially corroding, degrading to women and a risk to the young.

CNBC, First in Business Worldwide, takes an unprecedented behind-the-scenes look inside the multibillion pornography business, from the threats to its profitability to exclusive behind-the-scenes interviews with the industry's biggest stars to the one issue that could bring the adult industry to it's knees. CNBC's Melissa Lee reports on "PORN: BUSINESS OF PLEASURE," premiering Wednesday, July 15th at 9PM ET on CNBC.

I'm sure CNBC will give the porn industry the same sensationalistic treatment it gave the escorting industry this past year. You can't expect unbiased reporting from a network when all they are really trying to do is generate ad revenue.

Still, it should be amusing...

Don't know what happened. I cut and pasted from the post and I did get CNBC. It worked the 2nd time.

I wonder what kind of ads are going to be shown...condoms? sex phone lines? dvd players? broadband? alcohol?

Also the journalist for CNBC doing this special looks like she probably has never even looked at porn before being assigned to this report. Here is a picture of her

She could maybe have credibility if this was a special on AMPs

Melissa Lee! I'd do her in a heartbeat!

I'm not sure how you define credibility samsung. A reporter doesn't have to live his or her work to be credible. You do your research and you tell a story. People either like what they read/see or not. I'm not expecting to learn anything earth shattering about the porn industry from CNBC since I already belong to a few good porn forums and my ATF dancer did porn in the 90's. The show will be designed to titillate and to sell add revenue. Truly educating people is not their goal since telling strictly the truth could be done in about fifteen minutes and would be pretty boring.
