I guess I'm joining the ranks of what are called Winter Texans. I've visited a few times and have quite a few [Minnesota]friends in the area. I'm coming down in a few weeks to look at a place that's coming on the market through a private party. There's a lot of similarities/differences in different parts of the country regarding the adult sex scene. Coming from Minnesota, there are websites that have a very strong influence in our "market". TER (Theeroticreview), Tryst, Eros, the Monkey, Skipthegames and Sumosearch all enjoy a wide view of customers and advertisers. When I use these platforms in the RGV, it's pretty tough to see much for choices. What I have found after my second season (only down for 10 days last time) that TER has little to know useful info for RGV but plenty if I wish to venture to San Antonio. Eccie seems to have some good info but for some reason, getting passed to view all of the info is a real bitch without getting out the credit card. I avoid paper trails, so that's a no-go for me. What I am finding is surprising to me, there is a large amount of TS providers that advertise. Compared to the Minneapolis market, I'd say it's vastly overrepresented by TS. That's a head scratcher for me and not my thing. At first, I thought the RGV was a dead sea for adult fun. Boy was I wrong! I don't know if I'm prepared to say world-class experiences are available but I will say, there's a lot there for enjoyment but it's more on the Walmart level across the board.

That said, in my short time, I've learned that the RGV is kind of like an onion and all you have to do is peel back the layers to find good opportunities. A disclaimer, I'm mid 50's in good, not great, shape. I've had ladies tell me that I'm attractive. I take care of myself, dress well and have good manners. I don't stink, have all my teeth and I'm a guy that can listen as well as talk. I tell you this to set the stage for what I've learned thus far.

Strip Clubs; I've only been to a few and plan to visit them all soon. I'll start at the bottom of the barrel with The Boom Boom lounge. All it takes in the BB is having cash in your pocket. Takeout is available if wanted. Having a working handle on Spanish is a huge bonus here as well as throughout the area obviously. Staff and dancers are all very welcoming. Not being a local, I have not visited in the evening so my experiences are limited to the daytime. As far as facilities are concerned, the building is in tough shape. The bathrooms are highly questionable and private areas are pretty beat up. Always fun though, $100 (inlc cover) and you can ring your bell at the Boom Boom. Tex Mex runs the same but quite a few steps up ladder in venue quality as well as the ladies. You'll spend a few dollars more to get the same results. Very affordable. Visited during the day here as well when there were fewer ladies but also fewer gents to compete with.

Massage scene; I've visited 4 asian parlors. Rubmaps is a platform that has some basic (free), but useful info. What I generally cull from RM is fee levels and if the property has a table shower.
My experience is that if there is a table shower available, there's generally more avail as well. I can't recall all the names but i'll include some descriptions that will assist if you're looking at them. One has a green parapet wall (Qi), inline in a shopping complex. Visited twice and regretted both. First time, ran into an attractive younger attendant. No table shower but she was so cute, I had to try it out. Marginal massage, extras available but wow for GPS (golden pussy syndrome), wanted $$ for a happy ending, twice that for a bit more and triple for the whole shebang. Really copped some attitude as well. Second time, thought I'd try again, middle age gal, nice...plus I was able to actually say "Yes, been here before and saw xyz". Wanted to see if the first gal had me pegged for easy money so did another hour massage. She wouldn't even allow the towel to move up or down. Until I learn differently from somewhere else, I've visited this place enough now.

China Massage Spa; this place is also in a retail complex but a seemingly a bit more upscale. There's ample parking and it's located in a suite off an out of view common outdoor corridor in a covered gap between buildings. Very easy to duck into without being seen if that's a thing. Great table shower each time and happy endings at the end of the massage but they're looking for a tip of at least $20. More is available if wanted.

I wrapped up my last visit to Mcallen with a stop at Daily Massage & Footcare. When I got in the store, there was an attractive hispanic cougar waiting for her appointment. Turns out, she was in line for a foot massage. Still weird though (for me) but I guess that's why they advertise it. Wanting to see what this place was about, I coughed up for a 60 minute. The attendant I got was not the one I was talking too, she was a bit older than the first one...who herself, was older than I. Still, decent massage hitting every spot. She took the towel completely off within just a few minutes. Toward the end, she had me at full attention and was making me happy so I thought I'd push things a bit. As there was a complete language barrier, I blew her a kiss and she got the hint and took it from there. She did mention that I tip for that and I said OK. She did great, I gave her another $40 and she was happy. While she was playing the flute, my hand wandered over to her but and she dropped her skirt to the floor without missing a beat. Found that pretty interesting but that's as far as I wanted to take the session.

NON-Asian (Hispanic) Spas/massage; I visited a few of them and found that there are options there as well, it just depends on the girl at the time.

To summarize, there's plenty of entertainment and great value in the Mcallen area if you've got some spending money, you just have to put some footwork in and go find it.

Talking about civvie action, I've started to work on that as well. I've talked with some other mongers in the area and have heard the sugar bowl is alive and well in the RGV. As such, it's also at a cost much less than what other areas are like. I haven't ventured into that yet, it's just not practical at this point. Most of my work is being done during the day because that's when I can get away while running errands to checking things out. I have stopped at a few watering holes and found out it's pretty easy to get the attention of some very cute bartenders/servers who readily accept some flirting. Next trip, I'll be seeing how this works out as well. Like I said, layers of the onion.
