Ohio
I looked at the 2001 version of tuscl (using archive.org) and looked at the states and their number of strip clubs. I compared it with the 2010 current number of clubs. Here are the states that have seen an increase in the number of strip clubs. The state with the largest percentage growth is Vermont with going from 1 to 3 clubs means a 200% increase in strip clubs. The state with the largest growth in number of strip clubs is Oregon with 43 new strip clubs. I am glad to see that Ohio has had an increase in strip clubs but unfortunately there has also been an increase in regulation/rules here in Ohio.

Arizona 55 strip clubs to now 56 strip clubs(1.8% increase)
Delaware 4 to now 5 (25%)
Florida 195 to 197 (1%)
Kansas 29 in both 2001 and 2010
Maryland 49 to 52 (6%)
Michigan 73 to 83 (13.6%)
Montana 5 to 9 (80%)
Nevada 33 to 43 (30.3%)
New Hampshire 2 to 3 (50%)
New Jersey 119 to 120 (0.8%)
New York 126 to 127 (0.7%)
Ohio 113 to 117 (3.5%)
Oklahoma 38 to 45 (18%)
Oregon 43 to 86 (100%)
South Carolina 46 to 56 (21.7%)
South Dakota 13 to 15 (15%)
Texas 194 to 199 (2.5%)
Vermont 1 to 3 (200% - nice one little Vermont!)
West Virginia 44 in both 2001 and 2010
Wyoming 6 to 8 (33%)

Of course this comparison does not take into account that some clubs back in 2001 may not have been listed on tuscl. I still think Tuscl is the most accurate list of strip clubs compared to SCL. 18 States/districts have seen their number of strip clubs increase and 2 have seen it remain the same number.
Oregon may have 43 new strip clubs ... but I don't think you'd want a lapper at the 50+ in Portland propper. Why, o why, do they have sooooooooooo many lame clubs?!

Funny story: Guys really were "Shanghaied" in Portland long ago. A History Channel show on Portland discussed trap doors in the floor of bars down on the waterfront ... move too close and the bartender threw the lever and down you went!

But the amusing anecdote was two of the most prolific criminals involved in the practice of "Shanghai-ing". Once, while out on the prowl, they looked down through the sidewalk planking (Portland's frequent rain meant they raised the street level) and saw what they assumed were a dozen drunks passed out. Once down below, they discovered the drunks had broken into what they must've thought was a barrel of alcohol but rather was poisonous embalming fluid. The dozen "joes" were all dead. Nevertheless, they loaded up the "drunks" onto some flatbed carts and delivered them to a captain as crew. The captain wasn't impressed with the lot, but the 'salesmen' said they were merely 'intoxicated'. The captain paid the going bounty for each crewmen and they hauled them aboard. The 'salesmen' quickly disappeared, but not the tale of their "big score".

I guess we know why they call Oregon the Beaver state lol
As for strip clubs per capita, Portland I believe has the most strip clubs per capita.
Also Ohio just lost Club 2K in Newark, so they are down to 116, but still an increase from their 2001 levels.

VT actually only has 2 real strip clubs now, and they've had as many as 2-3 more than now in the past. A number of them actually burned down I guess. NH really only has only 1-2 real strip clubs now as well, and they have had at least 1-2 others, in addition to right now, in the past.
Samsung, burnrubber -- Portland has a lot of strip clubs, but I think the highest strip clubs per capita award goes to Brooklyn Illinois. Population = 276 No. of strip clubs = 4. That's one strip club for every 70 inhabitants. Is there ANY other town city or village that comes close????
I'm sure there are many small population towns, etc., which are more commercial locales than residential. So be it Brooklyn or COI, they're destination places surrounded by MUCH larger cities.

So, maybe it's a different category. But Portland has 56 lame clubs. Why? Why doesn't 5 or even 10 suffice? There are surrounding suburbs, and I believe many TUSCL contributors have spoken highly of Jiggles in Tualitan. If true, why can 56 clubs in Portland propper stay in business?
