When in Ottawa I usually go across the river to Gatineau to Pigale, but last week I thought I'd try something different for a change and went across the street to Club Taboo. They're like night & day, and not in a real good sense for Taboo! When I went in I was the only customer, and there was one dancer sitting at the bar. The rest were out back for a smoke. Anyway, I had a real nice chat with the dancer, and decided to go for a private dance. The booths are in the back of the club and are VERY small. Imagine trying to dance in a phone booth, and you'll have some idea what the dancers are up against. :) As for the dance, there was lots of touching allowed, and she had a great personality, so it wasn't as much of a dud as I thought it might be when I saw the booths. Beer was $5, dances a standard $20/song. All things considered, I don't imagine I'll be going back there when so much more is on offer nearby, but it was OK.
