I visited the club recently several times over a one week period, generally in late afternoon and early evening. While still one of my favorite clubs, it has definitely lost the small club feel of the old Tootsies. At first, I liked the upscale flashiness of the new club, especially since many of the old club’s dancers and waitresses still worked here. But now, with most of them gone, I definitely felt the impersonal atmosphere that big clubs tend to have. Can’t say I found any new talent to go crazy over either, which is rarely the case for me at Tootsies. The hotter new girls seem more interested in hustling in the upper level VIP area, so you can’t really get a dance with them straight off the main stage anymore since they have to do a set upstairs first, and once they go up there, you may not see them again. Maybe since the new owner is a big corporation, the club is slowly turning into a mainstream gentleman’s club, unlike the exotic and sometimes wild club of old. I thought maybe I’m just getting old and jaded, so I also visited the Pink Pony for the first time. Found some spectacularly hot Latina talent there, so no, it’s not just me…
