Along with Visions in NO East...

Along with Visions in NO East (which is very different), this is my favorite club in NO (and it's a lot more accessible to visitors than Visions, for those...). Bourbon St. kind of breaks down into two sets of clubs: the big box, slick, chain sort of place, which may have nice girls, but usually have little bang for your buck; and the old school local places, which tend to the scuzzy (though I have to admit I've only had the nerve to try a couple of them--I mean, half of them advertise "female impersonators"!).

Temptations kind of splits the difference. It's a local operation, and the girls create a friendly neighborhood shop sort of atmosphere. As for their appeal, for me most of them don't, but it only takes a couple and I've always been so lucky. Perhaps best about the place is the decor, which is exposed historic brick walls and 19th cent. period furniture in the private rooms. The private rooms are through the courtyard in back and upstairs, and they are sumptuous.

Make a connection with a girl and take her back, and she'll leave you satisfied. It is pricey though, at 350 a half hour with like a 50 dollar surcharge for credit card and lots of pushing for tips from the cocktail waitress.
