My wife thought it'd be fun...
My wife thought it'd be fun to check out a male strip club, and the Main Stage, which offered males stripping in one room and females stripping next door in the same building, was pretty much the only choice in Atlanta. So, while she ogled the men, I went to the Main Stage to see the women. It seemed like a good idea.
At least she had a good time.
Like many other Atlanta clubs, it turns out that the Main Stage has a crazy policy that the stage dancer must receive a minimum amount in tips before removing her top, and then an additional amount before the bottom comes off. The motivation for the rule is, of course, to encourage tipping, but it's very stupid because it violates the most basic economic law, "Supply and Demand," which, among other things, says that, when demand falls, the price should also (this is obvious). Unfortunately, under the crazy minimum-tip rule, during slow times like weeknights and afternoons (when demand is low), it costs more in tips to see a stripper do her thing (since there are fewer people there to help achieve the minimum), effectively raising the price. In general, when this happens, people stop buying the product. In the case of strip clubs, no one goes during the slow times, which then become even slower. And the club makes even less money then. And, of course, the girls make even less money too. Clearly, the world’s greatest minds aren’t running strip clubs in Atlanta.
