Well, I'm trying to figure this...
Well, I'm trying to figure this place out. I was there in the afternoon and stayed for 3 dancers doing double sets. Everyone--dancers, DJ, waitress-- seemed to be mildly pissed off. No one asked me if I wanted a dance. I don't think they asked any of the (10 or so) customers if they wanted dances. The waitress took my drink before I was done. Dancers disappeared into the back after their stage dances. A couple dancers were drinking at the bar and a couple smoking outside. It wasn't clear how many dancers were actually working. The dancers that I saw weren't bad looking, except they became invisible once they left the stage.
After I left, I saw an ad for Skin in the New Times. It advertised two-for-one drinks and dances all day and all night. Except my drink wasn't 2/1. And, if they never dance for anyone, it's difficult to see the value in 2/1 dances. I had heard elsewhere that Skin is now paying a salary to its dancers. That might factor into this puzzle somewhere. Go to work, smoke, drink, hang out, get paid, and don't bother with cheap dances. Anyway, that's my best guess. Bizarre.
