A tale of two Brads.

The history and current observations. I ended up going to both Brads Brass Flamingo and Brads Gold Club last week. Back in the early 90’s, they were owned by the same guy, and they were equivalent – great dancers, lots of customers, good atmosphere. When Brad left the business and sold out to the two managers, they’ve gone different directions. Quality of dancers stays good to very good overall and the brass flamingo, and is really variable at the Gold Club. There are no more table dances at the Gold club, now they are $25 each in the VIP room, vs $10.00 in a couch area at the rear at the Brass Flamingo. There are frequently multiple couch dances going on at once at the Flamingo, and frequently none at the Gold. While partially this is related to # of customers, it also has a lot to do with price.

Last winter, the Flamingo raised the VIP room from $50/ half hour to $100. While a price increase was probably overdue, the amount of increase “left a bad taste in a lot of customers mouths”. I hope someone in management at the Flamingo reads this. While the $10 couch is far below most clubs, it has a lot to do with the # of customers and frequency of visits. I go there despite driving from the NW side to the SE, and the couch dances are a big reason why. I want to encourage Brads Brass Flamingo management to keep the couch dance price low. If you absolutely feel you have to raise the couch dance price, PLEASE keep it modest. If you double it, it will lead to materially less customers doing couch dances, and when they do, having less dances. If will also have a negative impact on the number of customers, and how much they spend on drinks (it will force tougher choices).
