Sassy it up

Me and some friends were bar hopping in the Buckman area of SE Portland. We decided to stop by Sassy’s along our stops. The buckman area is pretty lively on the weekends, a lot of young people in their 20’s and 30’s. Most clubs/bars in this area you have to do street parking, but Sassy’s does have a parking lot. There is one of those coffee bikini barista stands in the Sassy’s parking lot, I think it’s open Monday through Friday and closes at 6 pm.

Back to Sassy’s, I arrived at 10:30 on a Friday night. ID check and a $3 cover. When you walk in, you see the back stage and lottery machines. You walk ahead a bit and then you see the other 2 stages and the bar. There are actually seats at the bar, which is appreciated. I usually frequent the downtown clubs, and there are no seats at the bar. Drink prices here at Sassy’s were a little bit more expensive than I was thinking it would be, being that it’s like a dive bar. I think it was 9 bucks for a rum and coke.

Not too busy at this time. There were maybe 10-15 customers, most of them in their late 20’s early 30’s. There were maybe 9 girls here, the post the dancer schedule for the week on their website. Mostly white girls with a couple of mixed race girls. The girls were mainly in the 6 range, a mix of younger (mid 20’s) and older (late 30’s) older girls. Lots of tattoos. They had all 3 stages going, the girls were doing 3 song sets. Music was a mixture of Rock and R&B.
